• Watching DVDs in School

Right - this is about 3 weeks old now, simply because I forgot to post it. There are only a few things that seriously annoy me about school such as the constant need to do Languages and having teachers that don't know much about It, but that is the least of the problems. The relaxing days before school - those are the problems. SCHOOLS SHOULD NOT SHOW DVDs unless they let the kids decide what to watch and not let the teachers decide what's popular and whats not. Seriously - I went into school 3 weeks ago on the Monday. "Hello class, we're watching Wall-E in Geography today!" This Geography Class is Secondary School 2nd year. Some people groaned (rightly so) and we had to do crosswords about the rainforest. :O So - next lesson - Mathematics. One of the best lessons that day - NO DVDs, just some cool refraction pattern - really quite easy and relaxed, it was quite enjoyable but then you get to the worst lesson of the day. Triple French - what do we do in Triple French. Well - first we watch Ratatouille (the school loves Disney for some reason), almost fell asleep. English Subtitles made the enjoyment much harder aswell. The teacher asked if anyone brought DVDs in as she asked. I raised Family Guy. NO NO NO, Family Guy is 15, you are 13. FOOLS! She confiscates my Family Guy DVD till the end of the week. Somebody holds up Twilight. OH DAMN IT!. WE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WATCH MOVIES IN SCHOOL IF RETARDS AND TEACHERS ONLY GET TO PICK WHAT WE WATCH. My WH class was awesome Watched Enemy at the Gates and The Four Feathers and all A lot of History / Social Studies teachers are cool But the Deutsch Aktuell II soap opera thing was so horrible but so frigging hilarious
Count yourself lucky we didn't watch any movies because they weren't related to what we were doing apparently.
Really - how old are you good sir? [editline]04:11PM[/editline]
Count yourself lucky we didn't watch any movies because they weren't related to what we were doing apparently.
We watched Twilight. Switch schools?
Really - how old are you good sir? [editline]04:11PM[/editline] We watched Twilight. Switch schools?
I finished school 2 years ago :smug:
We saw Jurrasic Park and Twister in Earth Science last year, that was an awesome class. :c00l:
we've watched dazed and confused, blood diamond, weird science... actually good movies. our teachers are cool.
Wall-E is an awesome movie.
Wall-E is not an awesome movie - Wall-E is a mediocre movie
hey, be happy, atleast you get to watch some movies, i didn't have that in school. Altough we did have a chance to watch one movie, it was about drug alcohol and sex and we were just 13-14... [editline]03:18PM[/editline]
Wall-E is not an awesome movie - Wall-E is a mediocre movie
take. that. back.
take. that. back.
No. Way. Fool
Yeah man schools are so stupid for obeying the law and not showing you shit you shouldn't be allowed to see due to age limits. Oh wait...
One time a kid brought in a video documentary about how to have weed and never get caught by the police, the teacher thought it would be funny to watch it so the class did. I was just shocked, I didn't say anything all class. If the principal walked by the class my teacher would have been fired. Age group in the class was 17-18. Also, OP sounds like a bundle of fun.
Waaaah I don't like the movies we're watching because I'm spoiled so rotten my dick is falling off [editline]11:24AM[/editline] Cry some more.
Hahaha, the reason they don't show you any good movies are because you're not old enough to watch them. (But Wall-E is a good movie) They "love" disney because they are allowed for your age. Be glad they even show you some fucking movies.

If he doesn't like the goddamn movies he can drop the fuck out, get a job and quit the bitching.
We watched the Jeff Dunham show.. So fucking dumb -.- Everybody in my class had seen it 100's of times, and they still laughed of the same fucking lame jokes. Seriously.. It was only fun the first time :saddowns:
Pixar movies are great, you need to learn to like good movies. Most schools don't even get to watch movies so you should be glad. At my school teachers don't care what a movie is rated. We have seen "Saving Private Ryan" which is extremely bloody, and "Crash" which contains sex scenes and some movie about cave men which just contained naked men running around. Though I do feel bad that you watched Twilight.
If he doesn't like the goddamn movies he can drop the fuck out, get a job and quit the bitching.
He can't, all he can do is mown lawns and bring the newspapers to peoples doors.
He can't, all he can do is mown lawns and bring the newspapers to peoples doors.
Bullshit. He can suck cock for 20 a pop.
DVDs are only valuable if the movie pertains to the subject being learned in class. For instance, we watched WALL-E in my Social Studies class, and had to write an essay detailing how the portrayal of society in WALL-E is already happening in today's society. We also did the like in ELA, where we watched Eraserhead, and wrote an essay on what the director, David Lynch, was trying to symbolize in the film (In our own opinion). Though, Twilight, really, has no educational value, as does Ratatouille, so I think DVDs should only be shown in class if they are going to be used for education and not just to pass time.
He can't, all he can do is mown lawns and bring the newspapers to peoples doors.
And I'm sure if he did he would probably be making threads complaining about how the letterboxes are too high, too low or about why it sucks that it rains from time to time. Or he could just not get a job, deal with it and sit through a film without acting like having to watch films is child abuse.
I recall years ago, perhaps five or six, my brother's teacher was fired for letting his sixth grade class watch resident evil or something like that, hah.
If I could watch DVDs in school I would be soooooooo happy.
WALL-E was badass, what are you complaining about.
We saw Schindler's List together with elementary school kids yeah...
I watched "The Pianist" in my English Honors class. Pretty damn good movie.
Big deal, not like you can just go home and drown that out in the movies and games you actually own. Like what I did, we had to watch a mexican high school musical, so afterwards I watched Letters from Iwo Jima.
Your teachers and school is breaking the law by showing the DVD's to you. Of course though nobody ever bothers.
