• What are you doing to make the world a better place?

I would like to discuss how Facepunchers are making the world a better place. Please share experiences and also ideas on things that you'd like to do but might need help with doing. Recommendations and advice to others is also appreciated. Pictures showing you performing your good deeds receive gaybows (that's a good thing here)
Isn't 'better' a relative term? What is a better place for me may not be a better place for every other individual. Anyway, I help people with their computers quite a lot as part of my job... I guess you could say I make some of them happy which means they are friendly to me which makes my world a better place. I also like to question everything - especially things that the questioning of is, for some reason, frowned upon - I like to think that this encourages more of the same logical behaviour as opposed to, for example; adopting other peoples values and ideas instead of forming your own.
Wank alot.
not procreate. on purpose. :allears:
I recycle and try to be energy efficient, which isn't very successful given my desktop guzzles electricity. So not much. I'm happy, that's the important thing.
Gracing my presence upon mere mortals
A picture of this deed please
It's not very complex to imagine. I don't think you need pics.
A philosopher I see
Really? I guess I do often find myself stuck thinking of things like the relative perception of reality and labels such as good and bad, right and wrong, etc. I never really talk about it though I also edit my posts a lot :P
I hold doors open for people occasionally. That's about it.
Are you a quiet person In RL by any chance? [editline]05:35PM[/editline]
I hold doors open for people occasionally. That's about it.
Ahh a fellow gentleman :golfclap: Nice to meet you
That describes half the people on Facepunch.
Nothing.
Killing Hipsters.....
I occasionally volunteer at the humane society in my city. Managed to convince a handful of families to adopt. Umm other than that, I don't really have the resources to do much. I wanted to open a rescue center for abandoned dogs when I'm older. Would probably take a long while though to get the resources for that.
Not eating poor animals.
Being gay. less chance of babies taking up too much space.
Are you a quiet person In RL by any chance?
Indeed I am, especially in regard to discussion of things such as this. On the occasions that I have attempted to converse regarding this stuff I guess I've been a bit unlucky because all I've come across are people who just disagree for the sake of it most of the time without even listening or thinking. The drones get to me :) I generally just try to blend in as I know that a lot of people would be pretty disturbed or just not understand at all most of the shit I'm endlessly disputing in my mind. I tend to write a lot of shit, planning on doing some stand-up at some point - just need to organise some of my material!

I wish I could do what you did and take in abandoned animals like you did for Raisin. Too bad my mother and I are allergic to cats and my dog is dog-aggressive. :saddowns:
I helped someone bump start their van yesterday, I saw him and was like "you need a hand there fella?" and he was like "if you don't mind" So I pushed his van for about 10 yards :)

Tell us a joke and we'll advise you on whether you should do stand-up or not:) [editline]05:50PM[/editline]
I wish I could do what you did and take in abandoned animals like you did for Raisin. It's not so much jokes, it's more different ways of looking at things but I guess they can both be the same thing.
I used to complain about the predominantly shit music in shitty nightclubs, but I don't anymore because I realized that its all really just a soundtrack to getting STD's. Another theory I have about nightclubs is that the drinks are cheap because they know, once you hear the music, you'll get more and more and more until you can't hear that shit anymore.
Just some of the observational stuff I remember noting down :) Comedy makes the world a better place for a lot of people (just to keep this shit on topic)
Nothing [editline]06:56PM[/editline]
Being gay. less chance of babies taking up too much space.
Oh this counts? Yeah this
I volunteered at my local hospital for about a year. Yay
I smile at people on the streets and sometimes I make people laugh.

My family has a bad habit of just driving by people with broken down cars. When I see that I ask them to drop me off and pick me off and come back later. I also get off when I see a lady mowing a lawn by herself because I feel bad for them:/
I put my feces in the toilet instead of in public places
I put my feces in the toilet instead of in public places
what about public toilet?
Have some pictures of some of the shelter dogs I took pictures of when I first started volunteering which was about.. 4 years ago? So these are REALLY old. [IMG_thumb]http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx146/Pascalll/l_decb29b877e4419b7e03f89f135e90ea.jpg[/IMG_thumb] [IMG_thumb]http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx146/Pascalll/l_38870e15f5b74993811d6617776dbadb.jpg[/IMG_thumb] [IMG_thumb]http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx146/Pascalll/l_683ef6987c2c1fb20a473858324ff1b7.jpg[/IMG_thumb] This dog was my favorite. I tried not to pick favorites since I worked with a ton of dogs when I volunteered, but he was so adorable. His name was Willie and he was sweet, loving, and was the most amazingly obedient dog I have ever seen. One day I showed up to start working and he was gone. Never found out where he went but I really hope he's happy now. [IMG_thumb]http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx146/Pascalll/l_b5589b92d232c70fde8b5b922de9d76d.jpg[/IMG_thumb] He was really sweet, and I would've adopted him if I could have. And here's an even OLDER picture of when I gave dog baths to raise money for our youth group's trip to the beach. That was when I was thirteen I think. Nineteen now. So it was quite a while back. Would love to get a chance to do something like this again though. It was fun. [IMG_thumb]http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx146/Pascalll/l_a6a22336dfb0788a009aa2d0fa6a4069.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
