The vehicle had been en route from Nintendo's European headquarters to GAME's UK warehouse. Copies of the rarer, more expensive Splatoon Special Edition - which contains the game's Squid Amiibo - made up much of the delivery. GAME's entire shipment is now gone. The retailer has now notified customers that it cannot fulfil its orders for the Special Edition, which was the only way to get the Squid Amiibo in Europe (thanks, Amiibo Alerts). "Due to these extraordinary circumstances, we will unfortunately not be getting replacements for these missing items," GAME's email to affected customers explained. "We have no option but to substitute the Splatoon + Squid Inkling in your order with the standard version of the game. "You will still receive your Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy Amiibo. We will be discounting this edition by £10 from £52.99 to £42.99 to apologise for this inconvenience."
source I'm so mad right now, Amiibo has become a fucking mess. I had a special edition preordered from game myself and was really looking forward to the little inkling figure.
Wow. Do you think the lorry was targeted solely because of the Amibbo contents? Collectors are getting crazy
Nintendo needs to start just shipping amiibos in lock box armored trucks. I really wanted one of those amiibos too :L
Real glad my bro has brought any of them. Don't need to worry about breakins.

Payday: Nintendo Heist DLC
Payday: Nintendo Heist DLC
With Nintendo face masks, I assume?
The amiibo struggle is real.
With Nintendo face masks, I assume?
Mario, Link, Samus and Red from pokemon
Nintendo needs to start just shipping amiibos in lock box armored trucks. I really wanted one of those amiibos too :L
OR they could get their asses out of their heads and produce more of them and make more profit.
The whole Amiibo thing is kinda weird, i can get them at pretty much every store and they are rarely sold out here, yet i hear that the UK is in a Amiibo crises. Aw yush, i could start a Amiibo export company and earn some serious cash :v:
Are you sure that ALL Amiibo are in stock? Nobody gives a shit about Luigi, Mario, Bowers or Peach.
Yeah, Falcon, Link, Samus, Dankey kang, Yoshi.
Christ, that's some Payday shit. Here's hoping that truck gets found and the supplies get returned.
Probably can get more than gold for those.
Surely it'll be possible to track down the culprit when you see all these early eBay and Amazon appearances? :V
With Nintendo face masks, I assume?
Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser all hit Nintendo of Japan's headquarters to break into their vault to steal the next star fox game, the next zelda game, the next metroid game, and tons of limited edition amiibos. Oh god it would be hilarious.
Surely it'll be possible to track down the culprit when you see all these early eBay and Amazon appearances? :V
The police in the country don't do jack shit in that regard, all they tend to do is take down details and pass on a report to the insurance companies. My neighbour got burgled the other day, the police checked nearby security cams, found nothing, files a report to the insurance companies, put a leaflet through everyone's door saying "Make sure to keep you garage locked so it doesn't get burgled"(when the burgle used a ladder and when in though the god-damned window... in a busy main road.) And set a community support officer on a beat past the houses for a few days. A community support officer is basically like a neighbourhood watchman with a fancy uniform, they don't even have proper police powers.
Yeah, Falcon, Link, Samus, Dankey kang, Yoshi.
Falcon is pretty valuable, I think Samus is as well. the others are relatively common though.
Wow. Do you think the lorry was targeted solely because of the Amibbo contents? Collectors are getting crazy
Imagine if this was actually over cheap plastic toys? Honestly I don't even think Nintendo is angry, they've already struck gold by appealing to peoples nostalgia and making them go fanatical over little figurines.
I just wanted a fox mcloud amiibo but good luck to me I guess.
Imagine if this was actually over cheap plastic toys? The way they can store data (actually useful) + you can collect them + the average Nintendo fan buys everything that has Nintendo on it + they unlock exclusive content for certain games = Goldmine. If they were just regular figurines i don't think they would be selling this good.
Honestly, all this bullshit with the amiibos make me not want to buy amiibos until the hype for the majority of them dies down a bit.
Mario, Link, Samus and Red from pokemon
"Put-a all the money in-a the bag! Waa-haa!"
Maybe it was stolen by a vigilante hell bent on bringing down nintendo's evil amiibo empire
Aww crap, how am I gonna be a kid and a squid now?

Anyone trying to say they're "actually useful" is being pretty delusional, no offence.
Hey, the amiibos aren't region locked IIRC. I've been ordering mine from Japan cause the stores here don't have Rosalina In fact I just ordered a Wario online
People buy amiibos because it's basically the only officially licensed collectible figurine nintendo merchandise that is current. I know people who literally go out of their way to buy every single amiibo. It isn't because they care about the functionality, its almost entirely because they are little figurines of their favorite characters with a nice side bonus of pairing with their favorite console. Imagine being a die hard nintendo fan. Why wouldn't you want that yoshi figurine on your desk? especially when it pairs with your WiiU? It is a totally silly craze but not any crazier than beanie babies and not surprising considering Nintendo hasn't really made merch like this before and considering how big of a fans nintendo's devoted already are.

I don't own any Amiibo nor do i have a Wii U so i would not really know what else it can be used for besides Super Smash and Splatoon
