Yeah no, the last part of that statement makes it stupid. Say, I've a business, I stood at the head of it since the start. Yeah, someone built bridges, someone built roads, someone did whatever and because of that my business can exist, that's fine, someone educated me etc. Thing is - these people didn't do that out of kindness of their hearts to help me. It was their job to do that, it was too someone's business, they were making money this way. I mean, that's just how capitalism works - people work for themselves (to make a living), and in the process, they create an infrastructure that is used by everybody else to make their living.

The vast majority of the time such infrastructure is financed by the government.

Government does indeed pay those companies, but government isn't doing it out of its pocket either. People who work there are getting paid. Budgets are made through taxes, trade and stuff, all of it consists of people making money to live. Like, sure, society as a whole deserves some credit for individuals' success, but it's not like they were just elevated by someone else. It's a self-sustaining system.
