Dayum avatar.
Best Supporting Actor Christoph Waltz, Inglorious Bastards He better win.
absolutely, one of the best performances in a supporting role i have seen in a LONG time
Best Supporting Actor Christoph Waltz, Inglorious Bastards He better win.
He better indeed, I swear he had more screen time than any other character too. He played the character fantastically.
Up better win atleast one of these
I have a feeling Avatar won't win Best Picture.
I have a feeling Avatar won't win Best Picture.
It's the Oscars not the Golden Globes, not a chance will Avatar win, I can't believe it's actually up for an Oscar to be honest.
It's the Oscars not the Golden Globes, not a chance will Avatar win, I can't believe it's actually up for an Oscar to be honest.
Art Direction and Special Effects are the only awards I know it's going to win. Maybe sound mixing but Transformers might get that one. My pick is A Serious Man.
Best original score should go to Sherlock Holmes, the music in that movie was amazing. Best sound editing should go to Inglourious Basterds. The accentuation of the tiniest sounds really added to the tension. Not to mention the booming gunshots. And of course, Best Supporting to Waltz.
Sandra Bullock, what.
Sandra Bullock, what.
No idea. Hurt Locker should win best picture.
avatar is going to win cinematography, art direction, visual effects, and maybe film editing
I see they hate Star Trek.
If avatar wins best picture or best director I'm never taking the Oscars seriously ever again
I'll happily allow Avatar to win its categories for editing and visual effects and all that crap but if it wins best score, direction or film I'm going to be seriously pissed off. I'd like Sherlock Holmes to win best score - that film had surprisingly good music. Inglorious Basterds should win best original screenplay and direction and if Christoph Waltz doesn't win best supporting actor I'll eat my hat in rage. District 9 really needs to be respected in some format so I would really like it to win best adapted screenplay. Up is obviously going to win best animated film. As long as Avatar doesn't win best film I'm happy, but ideally I'd like it to be Up, District 9 or Inglorious Basterds.

Christopher Waltz will win, don't worry.
I'm rooting for District 9 to win best picture. "Fooking prons"
I'm rooting for District 9 to win best picture. "Fooking prons"
The Academy dosen't have the balls to pick that. But it would be nice.
Up is obviously going to win best animated film. .
I wish that Coraline would win, I mean it is Henry Selick damn. Also the movie was pretty good for being a kids movie. I bet Pixar will win though, when have not they won...
If I was to judge the winners: BEST PICTURE Avatar The Blind Side District 9 An Education The Hurt Locker Inglourious Basterds Precious A Serious Man Up Up In The Air BEST ACTOR Jeff Bridges, Crazy Heart George Clooney, Up In The Air Colin Firth, A Single Man Morgan Freeman, Invictus Jeremy Renner, The Hurt Locker BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR Matt Damon, Invictus Woody Harrelson, The Messenger Christopher Plummer, The Last Station Stanley Tucci, The Lovely Bones Christoph Waltz, Inglourious Basterds BEST ACTRESS Sandra Bullock, The Blind Side Helen Mirren, The Last Station Carey Mulligan, An Education Gabourey Sidibe, Precious Meryl Streep, Julie & Julia BEST DIRECTOR James Cameron, Avatar Kathryn Bigelow, The Hurt Locker Quentin Tarantino, Inglourious Basterds Lee Daniels, Precious Jason Reitman, Up In The Air BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY The Hurt Locker Inglourious Basterds The Messenger A Serious Man Up BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY District 9 An Education In The Loop Precious Up In The Air BEST ANIMATED FEATURE FILM Coraline Fantastic Mr. Fox The Princess and The Frog The Secret of Kells Up ]CINEMATOGRAPHY Avatar Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince The Hurt Locker Inglourious Basterds The White Ribbon DOCUMENTARY FEATURE Burma VJ (It's amazing. Story- Character- Soundtrackwise, it's shit imo.
No love for Moon at the oscars >:( Should've gotten one for soundtrack, best actor, best picture, and best director for sure. Also Hurt Locker better win over Avatar for best picture. Also it'd be nice to see Bridges get the oscar for Best Actor. He's been nominated something like five times before already.
Up better win atleast one of these
Probaly Best animated Feature and/or Best soundtrack
No love for Moon at the oscars >:( Should've gotten one for soundtrack, best actor, best picture, and best director for sure.
The studio doesn't have enough balls to give a nod to moon even if they wanted to, they're trying to get more people to watch remember? Why else do you think stuff like Blind Side is getting any recognition? I am pleasantly surprised district 9 got some attention.

Story- Character- Soundtrackwise, it's shit imo.
I agree with this, especially with what you said about Avatar. And the original score..I think Sherlock Holmes deserves the win here. Great soundtrack. However, I'd like to see District 9 win Best Picture. Really good film.
1. A Serious Man is the best movie of 2009, and definitely is most deserving of Best Picture. However, it has almost no chance of winning. I'm predicting The Hurt Locker will win. 2. Inglourious Basterds is the second best movie, but won't win. 3. Avatar, I actually think this movie is under-rated. I was very happy when it won the Golden Globe, but many people were pissed saying it was all visuals and no story. I loved the story, I found it engaging, despite its familiarity. 4. Jeff Bridges will win Best Actor, but Colin Firth should, he was incredible in A Single Man. 5. Carey Mulligan should win for An Education, she was great, but I think Bullock will win this year (undeservedly). 6. Waltz and Monique will win supporting, both deservedly. 7. (500) Days of Summer got snubbed for Best Picture, get The Blind Side out of there! Just my two cents.
I have a feeling Avatar won't win Best Picture.
Eh, Avatar will get the Academy more attention and money, where The Hurt Locker will not. (The two films that are most likely to win are THL and Avatar) Whether or not they choose to pick a movie for the money, or quality is to be seen.
I haven't watched Inglorious Basterds, or UP or The Hurt Locker, but I agree on what most people said for the awards. Except the Best Picture thing. District 9 disappointed me, Avatar surprised me, a lot, but the others didn't really meant much to me. 2012 was awesome, but it was just LOL EXPLOSIONS.
You see that? The Secret of Kells? Oh fuck yeah, bitches. It's a fucking crying shame that the stupid fucks in charge of marketing aren't releasing it in the US till fucking march.
