this is cool as hell, but it looks like it could use more of Hotline Miami outside of the gameplay genre.
Yeah, it doesn't really seem to be at all like HM apart from being top down.
Was hoping for a HL1 mod in the style of Hotline Miami.
where are all the windows
shouldve named it codename gordon mark 2
Codename: Blood Dragon
shouldve named it codename gordon mark V
FTFY
It doesn't really come across to me as hotline miami at all, it didn't seem extremely fast paced or anything special
It comes across to me more as 'half life 2 from above'
Not gory enough for HM, lacks HM visual effects, lacks HM windows and it's far too slow.
This isn't HM.
can this retro 80's shit stop already? its just dumb and sad and it doesn't belong here.
Yeah this is a very lazy "crossover"...

I agree with windows and visual effects, but I feel like the current combine death animations capture the spirit of HL2's ragdolls perfectly
although I do think it shouldn't be as forgiving as it is right now (that part where gordon gets hit like 5 times and don't die it kinda reaches bloodbath kavkaz levels of bad)
I imagined it the other way around. HLM characters, weapons, and colors in the source engine.
R to restart is such a novelty feature.
The music reminds me a lot of E1M1.
The biggest thing to note about this game is that he made it as a school project and it's pretty much his first year of coding (and in C++ as well)
I've played the game extensively (as he is a student at the school I work at and I did a lot of play testing) and it's actually quite good.
I think the funniest things I've seen so far from comments is people bashing it, not realizing it's just a FREE game a guy made for fun. Not saying that you all have to like it, but why not wait and give it a try before saying it's not good?

doesn't belong where? on facepunch? because you personally don't like it?
????

pretty sure that is a joke and you not understanding it makes it even funnier
It looks like a decent little game you'd find on Newgrounds with the names of two larger titles tacked on for advertising purposes.

Nobody has ever said anything about it being "good" or "bad". People are talking about how there is no reason to call it "Half-Line Miami" instead of "Top-Down Half-Life" because it takes pretty much nothing from Hotline Miami.

Except top down 2D shooting, 80's music, control and weapon scheme...

Not until he at least ups enemy speed and reaction time. It looks like I could do a whole first playthrough unscathed just because all the enemies (shown in the trailer) are super fucking slow.
Also the way he did the title would make it Half-Aine Miami :v:
[editline]a[/editline]
Having a level editor is fucking awesome though.

you just need a good eye and some imagination

[editline]a[/editline] really hope we get something else other than a gravity gun as a weapon.
to be fair lambda is L so its not wrong

Nobody here said 'lol this game is shit i wouldn't play it'
People are just annoyed because they read the title and they expect a half-life 2 and hotline miami crossover
Instead they get Half-life 2:top down shooter using 'hotline miami crossover' as a way of drawing attention
graphics and game feel look very hotline miami
doesn't belong where? on facepunch? because you personally don't like it?

no i meant it doesn't belong in half-life. retro 80's shit is just silly and makes me wish hotline miami didn't exist and made it popular in the first place.
