Pretty sweet. Just wondering if the way you processed your drums is an artistic choice or not. Don't know how to describe what they sound like to me, but yeah.

No, it's not sidechaining. Like I said, they way they're processed/filtered. They just sound kinda odd to me, but not necessarily in a bad way. [editline]22nd July 2012[/editline] But now that you mention it, the sidechaining is quite noticeable :v:. Might wanna turn that down yeah.
A++++
Hey guys sorry for the lat responses. Yes theres is definately heavy sidechaining which is the sound I'm going for and as far as the filtering and compression on the drums, I don't really have a set way I do it on each beat I just go with whatever I think sounds best with the sample. I use so many plugins on the drums I couldn't even begin to explain whats going on with it I just keep fucking with it until it sounds how I want. I'll have a compressor taking the bass out and then I'll put an Equalizer with the bass to the max after it just to make it sound different for example [editline]24th July 2012[/editline] Heres another new one. Figured it didn't need it's own thread
help a fellow producer out where the fuck do you find these sick ass samples
The majority of the time at record shops in the dollar crates and sometimes the more expensive good condition jazz records. Definitely if you take beat making very seriously invest in a turntable and do the same because it forces you to play the record the whole way through and search for any small bit that may be useful. When I find samples online I tend to just skip through the song quickly and not find as much. As far as websites you can check out the blogs: never enough rhodes, sounds of the 70s, the growing bin, in-flight entertaininment, and theres many more if you just search on google.
