This. the Starvation Army threatened to starve the homeless population of NYC if New York State passed gay marriage laws.
Their aid is conditional. The SA is not a selfless amazing aid organization, it's a biased, religiously motivated machine with ideological goals, who uses their public reliance as political leverage.

Rather sad if you think about it, my Aunt works for one of the SA locations in Illinois and is rather tolerant and accepting to alot of people more selfless than most. There are a few people who are unconditionally selfless, its just the fact that retaining an image for a huge organization comes out over actual humanitarian help for some.
