North/North-Eastern Australia is drinking itself to death. Almost literally.

I read an article in The Australian about how the Kimberley has some the highest rates of fetal alcohol syndrome, alcohol related violence/deaths and alcohol smuggling in the world (going off memory here)

It's a horrible problem and a very fucking hard one to fix.

Yeah...ignoring it doesn't make it untrue, the first steps to fixing problems are usually acknowledging them, even if the problem is extremely difficult to actually fix. Congrats on not being part of the norm.

I suggest that you Google: "Northern Territory Intervention."
Ignoring it doesn't make it untrue; but the government hasn't enacted any plans which rectify or alleviate the social situation; removing the discrimination act against Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islanders wont help, will it.. -.-'
