Anyone here return from the Januarary 08 mass banning. - General

I was lurker then (still am now I guess) and the one damn thread i decided to post in that day had to be a genocide thread. I remember not being too mad because all I really used Facepunch for was the "Models and Skins" thread. Anyway, since I haven't checked to see If i was unbanned until just several days ago, and it being a permaban and all, can anyone tell me when that ban was lifted? Also to make this thread worthy of being in "General Discussion" and not "Fast Threads" I'd like to hear what others thought of this and other mass banns that were going on at the time. From both survivors and non-survivors. Keep in mind that I'm not complaining, I'm just curious.

I was perma banned in December 08 for like a month, I guess someone thought that posting a song from Portal wasn't really perma ban worthy.

A lot of people who get perma banned never check to see if the became un banned. If you use an alt because your were banned, you should check your old account

Yeah, the mass banning was rectified fairly quickly in the following months. None of the people affected really did anything to deserve a permaban, after all.

I remember reading a reaction thread where everyone saying it was undeserved, but Hezzy seemed really pissed off. After reading that I haven't been back until just recently. I have to say I do miss it some.

Yeah this account was banned in that thread, but got unbanned on Garry's birthday. I learned my lesson :(

I got my main account perma'd because I posted in the thread for choosing a new moderator. There was some little trick that was posted in the OP (amidst a wall of text... fucking first time I hadn't read the OP in full) saying that if you spelled 'vote' as 'boat' (or something like that), then you wouldn't get perma'd. I got perma'd. I'm still pissed about that, and it didn't get changed on garry's birthday. I wish I had that account back... it was sebbonaparte, instead of sebbonaparta. Annoying especially since I contribute in the creationism corner a lot and help critique people there. A little unfair, but what to expect... this is facepunch and shit happens.
