Another one? Wasn't Hot Pursuit already a NFS?
Another one? Wasn't Hot Pursuit already a NFS?
I have the NFS Hot Pursuit 2 Case next to me.... Hmmmmmm
Glad they finally added this to Steam.
Hmm, might get.
Bear in mind the PC version is not getting any DLC at the moment. http://kotaku.com/5712489/pc-need-for-speed-wont-get-consoles-dlc
Just bought.
Just so you guys know this is Burnout with police. Not Need For Speed. If you came for one of the Hot Pursuit games, turn around and look somewhere else. Worst piece of shit I ever bought.
Does it still have no AA and limited wheel support?
Does it still have no AA and limited wheel support?
Yep. [editline]14th December 2010[/editline]
Its Burnout with Police and none of the awesome damage.
Fun Fact: If it bears the name Need For Speed, it should be like the original games or the newer pieces of shit. Not some other game re-branded.
Not for that price. So many games to save up for...
Title is wrong. Should be Need For Speed: Barely Any Pursuit. Seriously most of the events for racers in career are time trials, previews for cars (aka time trial with a specific car), and races.

I loved Hot Pursuit 2 and nothing else out of the franchise. This sucks.
Also the game has problems with quad cores not working on it correctly. (Had to disable 2 of the cores in task manager for it to work without crashing.)
Series died after Most Wanted. I was expecting this to bring it back due to the title being the exact same as one of their older, better games, but I was disappointed. But it does look really pretty and I guess it's a good racing game if you're into that. But if you're into cop chases, don't get it.

Now you all hate it...
Now you all hate it...
I always hated it. I played it before it was on Steam. Everything I loved and played non-stop as a child in Hot Pursuit 2 felt butchered by this monstrosity.
Bear in mind the PC version is not getting any DLC at the moment. http://kotaku.com/5712489/pc-need-for-speed-wont-get-consoles-dlc
EA needs to start getting on their devs asses for releasing PC DLC months late. Getting tired of half of their games missing content for the PC.
OK, I loved Burnout Paradise. What about this?
a boring repetitious mess.
If that's the way you judge it then HP2 would be no different: Race - Unlocks Cars and Tracks - Race some more - Beat game.
Now you all hate it...
It was an over hyped piece of shit. I was like "FUCK YEA THIS IS GONNA BE AWESOME!" When I pre-ordered it. When I got it, I was like "Yea this is pretty good. Not what I expected but I can grow to like it." Get later in the game and say "This is a piece of shit, it's a crime to sell this for 50 dollars... What a fucking waste." I changed my mind through experience. [editline]14th December 2010[/editline]
If that's the way you judge it then HP2 would be no different: Race - Unlocks Cars and Tracks - Race some more - Beat game.
But HP2 you could have fun with. I will occasionally find myself playing HP2. Eight years after I beat it. Don't you think that qualifies as pretty good? If a game can still be fun long after it's expected to be. This game didn't last one week with me.

Is it because you can only make singleplayer races that the game has preset? (not to mention that "laps" have been removed too)
You cannot even choose between manual/automatic gearboxes in this new Hot Pursuit. As far as racing games go, that's pathetic.
Meh, your right, but then again you can't really judge this game because of realism. If what your saying would be the case in a game like Forza Motorsport, that would be mediocre, but I knew that this game would be strictly arcade. I'll admit the game is really restricted too but the gameplay is still pretty fun.

http://kotaku.com/5712489/pc-need-for-speed-wont-get-consoles-dlc
bearing in mind that the original was great without any DLC on any platform at all, i don't really care if the game's good, DLC shouldn't be necessary
bearing in mind that the original was great without any DLC on any platform at all, i don't really care if the game's good, DLC shouldn't be necessary
didn't it technically with the need to download one or two cars in order to use them? [editline]15th December 2010[/editline] Oh wait, that was Need For Speed Porsche (2000/unleashed), my bad
But HP2 you could have fun with. I will occasionally find myself playing HP2. Eight years after I beat it. Don't you think that qualifies as pretty good? This game didn't last one week with me.
i still play goldeneye, banjokazooie and mariocart 64... but that doesnt really matter, basically nfs is just making a new game every year or so to keep the cars up to date and to make money, they know that little street racer fanboys will buy every title and it keeps money in their bank
i enjoyed it, but i enjoy simplicity, if you are into depth and realism nfs isnt really there for you, i dont try to say i am a hardcore gamer, if i was i probably would be dissapointed, but i had it on gamefly until i beat it and it was 2 days... not exactly worth a purchase imo
