Trump's trip in early August could partially be related to the fact that the government is replacing the heating and cooling system in the White House's West Wing, so everyone who works there will need to leave by the end of the week, according to the AP.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders earlier this week was asked whether Trump would leave Washington this month.
“We’ll continue to keep you guys updated on his August schedule as those details are finalized," she told reporters.
Trump had previously urged GOP senators to cancel their August recess and not leave town until voting to repeal ObamaCare. Senate Republicans failed last week to pass even a "skinny" bill repealing ObamaCare.[/quote]

What if him being out of the office for four years is actually the best thing to happen? Surely everyone can throw a few more pennies in for taxes for that trade off, right?
Never in my whole life did I ever think I'd see a head of state who treats his tenure as one giant extended vacation, both in terms of days off and in terms of work actually accomplished. And on top of that he whines like a spoiled baby about how hard his job is.
It's pretty sickening that the same people who view tax payer money being used on welfare or healthcare for the less fortunate as nothing more than disgusting entitlement, are more than happy to defend taxpayer money being used to fund a billionaire's holidays.
Congress is out of session for a while in August as well so I'm not super concerned about him taking a vacation now in particular.
Hell if anything, that's just more time off from idiotic political moves.

I think is kind of the more important bit here. More so that they're actually being told to clear out.
I swear after this presidency there needs to be a law where you cannot contradict yourself without acknowledging the previous fact.

If we just go by golf trip counts, then that's [URL="http://trumpgolfcount.com/"]41[/URL], and according to that site (under "information") he's spent 25 days a Mar-A-Lago and 11 days at Bedminister. So 36 days out of his 195 days as president is 18.5% of his presidency spent on vacation.
On the other hand, Obama spent [URL="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Presidential_vacations"]217 days[/URL] of vacation the [URL="http://howlonghasobamabeenpresident.com/"]8 years and 2[/URL] days he was president. So out of Obama's 2922 days as president he has spent 7.3% on vacation.
And after the 17 days Trump is about to spend he would have spend 53 days on vacation and 212 days as president, which would mean 1/4 of his time (so far) has been spent on vacation

There's discussion in /r/flying about how the Presidential exclusion zones at Trump's golf resorts are killing entire businesses on airfields under the inner ring, where no flying is permitted. It's completely fucked that a President and his entire staff could be so blind to the effects of their work but that's not new from Trump.

On track to spend more is an understatement. Obama spent basically $12 million a year on vacations. Trump spent double that in 80 days
