*One of my older recordings. Near the end of 2011, Newgrounds held a voice acting contest to determine who would voice act as the Newgrounds Figurines in one larger scale Newgrounds production. The contest required each voice actor to look at the selected characters and create a short skit which captured your rendition of the character. By the grace of Hades, somehow I ended up winning the part of the Wireless Moonwalker, after writing and recording this skit: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/462150 It's been over a year, but apparently pre-production is making progress, so I suspect sometime this year, all the NGF11 winners will be contacted and emailed a script. Lazier than recording a new piece, I know, but I figure it's a nice change from me screaming angrily about fonts and banging underaged prom queens on school property. Hope y'all enjoy!
Not sure how, but in the process of trying to replicate this voices' effect for a separate project, I guess I kinda came across a mixture of effects on Audacity that replicate TDKR Bane's mask fairly decently: https://www.box.com/s/nb7ns19a53koq03yj1yd *Granted, this was merely a practice take, so unfortunately volume peaks and dips on occasion and cuts off entirely during the line where I say "imagine climbing to freedom", but as this is merely a bit of trial and error, that's to be expected, I suppose. Lord knows I'm no Tom Hardy, hehe. To any other voice actors or folks who just like experimenting behind the mix interested in giving this lil mixture of a go of their own, after initial noise removal, give your recording a GLAME Highpass Butterworth effect of -123, then highlight with a Pitch Scaler of 1.000.
that's actually really accurate!
I'd likely have to cease capping my mouth when I record if I'm to do it on a more recurring basis. Otherwise, I have to crank the volume up high before the export and with these effects, will induce quite a surplus of unbalanced volume; ranging from peak to fade.
