Seems a bit stupid, many of those seem to be absolutely fundamental gameplay mechanics or extremely tiny things rather than creative ideas for cool things to do, which I expected.
Those mini games actually look fun.
The mini games are pretty fun and have a really interesting design
Augmented reality games were the best part of the game IMO
2-11 are pretty much all "You can hold Q to hack"
2-11 are pretty much all "You can hold Q to hack"
do you want to play a minigame every time you hack something jfc
Some are just the same as others, like where you can jump the bridge in a limo, couple ones later, jump the bridge in a car. Also I like how at 52, he can't even get the bike in, so it just defeats the purpose of it.
Anyone know what the logo (http://i.imgur.com/iJS58Th.png) is meant to symbolise/mean?
Wow, the cool things you can do in the game he actually did cover that weren't game mechanics had footage that didn't do it justice. Like the spider-tank. He was using it like a normal tank, and not a wall hopping, surface sticking, beautifully crafted, blade legged hellbot.
Uncreative and barebones, 1/10

Yeah, I don't really get why people are mad about "hold q to hack". How else did they expect the seemless hacking to be done?
Especially when it was clear in the first footage that that was how you hacked.

I'm pretty sure it's just the games logo, I haven't played much into the story yet.
Also while searching this up, I found out the game was previously going to be called Nexus, and it's logo is the logo on Aidens bandana/face-mask
do you want to play a minigame every time you hack something jfc
That's not what I meant. I was talking about how 2-11 only consisted of "You can hack this, and this, and this, and also this."
Why is 52 on there when in the video he shows it can't be done
never played this game, first video I really watched about it
looks pretty fun so far (especially the minigames), and this video was obviously supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek 'informative' thing to clueless people like me
but I guess jumping on the hate-bandwagon for anything related to this game is the cool thing nowadays

I love the game. Pretty annoyed by the hate tornado as well.
But this video, for showing over 100 things to do, doesn't show you very much.
I dunno, out of all of these it seems like the only reason why i'd get this would be the spider-tank, admittedly that looks fuckin' rad.

Ubisoft was hyping this game for years, promising a next-gen experience. In the end, they ended up releasing something that was unfinished and in many ways less immersive than a 6 year old open-world game.
Ubisoft acted like this game would be the second coming of Christ, they ended up releasing something that was unfinished and sloppy.
He doesn't seem to understand that, don't start this again lol.

I get that anger, but like I said in another thread, that's no reason to hyperbole it up, and say the game is a shitty and looks like garbage.
And there are ways that Watch Dogs makes you more immersed than GTA IV, for me at least. Like the different personalities every different district has. And the shear amount of "something went down here" details.
I get that anger, but like I said in another thread, that's no reason to hyperbole it up, and say the game is a shitty and looks like garbage.
I haven't looked at the watch-dogs thread, but I don't think its hyperbole to say watchdogs is an unfinished game or that in many ways its less immersive than GTA 4. Personally, I wasn't hyped for this game to begin with, but I feel the anger directed towards Ubisoft is justified. They've built up and bullshitted a fanbase for this game.
I think much of anger comes from the fact that Ubisoft had a strong reputation for making quality products, as well.

Not a lot of people are bashing the game in the Watch Dogs thread because the thread is full of people that have tried the game. I'm referring more to things like the first reply in this thread, or people going around saying the game is garbage, or looks like shit, or that they shouldn't even bother trying the game because it's unplayable bad. Which someone who hasn't seen anything on the game other than that will believe, and it's quite a shame.

I believe that even Ubisofts' eyes were too big for their stomach with this title. But that doesn't make the end result bad.
After the optimization patches they've announced to be working on, the only complaint I'll have about the game (if they actually fix the games optimization issues) will be the connect-the-pipes minigame for the more serious hacks.
I get that anger, but like I said in another thread, that's no reason to hyperbole it up, and say the game is a shitty and looks like garbage.
From what I've played so far, it's not a shit game, but it's pretty mediocre.
And when you combine that with high expectations and a strong competitor, it's not far off from being shitty.

the bs of relating your expectations to a games objective quality aside, why is it that people have to hate pepsi if they love coke?
Oh well, more things on the "list of stuff I like" for me.
it honestly looks like a good sandboxy game to fuck around in
which is what I did 90% of the time in GTA IV
don't think I'll be disappointed by this
Yeah, I don't really get why people are mad about "hold q to hack". How else did they expect the seemless hacking to be done?

I don't think that's what the original poster was implying, though. The seamless hacking is good, but milking out 10 points for the video with it is lazy. "Hack objects" should have been one item in the entire list, if even if it should be there, as it really is an obvious part of Watch Dogs. The actual things to do on the list should have been limited to surprising, creative or unusual things to do - not the absolutely unavoidable things like "be Aiden", "wear a trench coat".
Maybe I should add that this also goes for the GTA V equivalent of this video (also since it does seem that comparing Watch Dogs to GTA V is a huge thing lately). A lot of the things there are also similarly stupid. (or not?)

Like the "look through a telescope to stargaze" point. Uh, yeah bro, that's truly stunning... Imho he should have done much less than 101 things and instead only include those that are truly creative and/or surprisingly possible.
I don't know how I feel about comparing the two videos, also keep in mind that I haven't played Watch Dogs, but I definitely found the GTA V one more exciting. Interestingly, I just realized that this video was where I saw the very first example of a glitch in GTA V, when the train rams into the bus. Can't exactly say glitches have been rarely seen in Watch Dogs.

lmao. I'm the bullshitter, when you're the one trying to apply terms like objective quality to a form of media?
I don't understand why you're so frustrated about people not liking the game. There were expectations implied by the company and people feel they weren't met. And it should be easy to see why people feel those expectations weren't met regardless of if you liked the game or not.
Steal a car
Steal a firetruck
Steal a boat
Steal a limousine
Steal an ice cream truck
*yawn*
I always felt like GTA4 was trying so hard to be immersive, that they ended up choking the gameplay with it.
I've done the campaign twice now, not a problem in Watch_Dogs.

I already stated in an earlier post in this thread that I thought the video was barebones. I was referring to the fact that people that are actually mad at that mechanic.

Wow it's like talking to a wall. How many times per post do I have to say I agree that ubisoft overhyped the game and that I can see why people would be mad about that?
And yeah, quality is objective. Whether or not is likeable isn't, but quality is definitely objective.
2-11 are pretty much all "You can hold Q to hack"
He wasn't complaining about the mechanic, but about the fact that many of the points in the video were milked out of it, which seems lazy of the creator of the video.
