investigators in Colorado said Wednesday the murder of a transit officer was a targeted attack. Sources told Fox 31 Denver that Joshua Cummings, who is accused of killing Scott Van Lanken in front of two women, describes himself as a “radical Muslim.” Law enforcement sources also told the station that police found jihadist materials inside a backpack at the time of his arrest. The 37-year-old Cummings was arrested Tuesday night after the shooting near Union Station. Security camera footage helped track down the man. Van Lanken, of Loveland, was armed and wearing a dark blue uniform similar to those worn by police at the time of his death. In case he was targeted because he was believed to be a police officer, police Chief Robert White said officers have been warned to remain vigilant. According to police, Von Lanken was trying to help two women who were afraid they had missed the last light rail train when one of them said she saw a man with a swollen face and "weird looking eyes" walk up to the officer and say something to the effect of "Do what you are told" before she heard a gunshot. He ran away but police found Cummings hiding on the patio of a nearby loft apartment building with a 9mm handgun. Cummings, who has ties to a variety of cities in Texas, most recently Austin, was charged with a misdemeanor over five years ago out of state, police Commander Barb Archer said. It's not clear if he has a lawyer yet. Gary Kim, the manager of the Holiday Motel in the Denver suburb of Englewood, said Cummings had been staying there for about three weeks. Wow, there sure are a lot of terrorists attacking people after a massively racist person was put into office who instated a massively racist travel ban. Too bad the 2 aren't related at all.
Donald Trump's travel ban is the most likely thing to cause another major terrorist attack in the USA. Which is exactly what Bannon and Trump are hoping for, as such attacks would be a perfect excuse to give the executive branch emergency powers and/or declare a national state of emergency. This is only the beginning.
It almost seems like you're posting a slew of terrorist attack articles because you have an agenda. Any chance you could post about an assault/crime that wasn't conducted by members of a religion your party wants to demonize?
What's this, the Two Minutes Hate?

You can't call him a racist for temporarily banning travel from 7 different countries that are prominently muslim when there are dozens of others in the same region that are also primarily muslim. I think this ban is ridiculous as well as pointless, and there are definitely other countries that should be on that list (Saudi Arabia). Also, how is this going to cause more terrorism in the US? The refugees that are trying to get in and can't decide to conduct terrorist attacks on the country they're trying to flee to in response? There are other countries that have the facilities to house refugees as well as a compatible religion to assimilate into (again, saudi arabia)
1.) This dude was a US citizen radicalized online. More proof the travel ban is shit and we need to refocus our priorities. 2.) Muslim leaders in Denver warned federal authorities about this guy. they sent an email to Homeland Security about this guy on December 24th. 3.) This dude had a history of being anti-cop. Its unclear if this attack was motivated by his faith or by his disdain for the police.
Also, how is this going to cause more terrorism in the US?
It's one of the many things that has been done to create an "us vs them" attitude in the US. Moves like this encourage bias and pit people against each other so they can be used to drive political agenda. It's not about preventing crime or saving lives. Talk to some supporters of the travel ban, and try to understand their rationale - most of the people I have spoken to in real life have been riled to fear people from this region, made indifferent to the plight (suspension of rights) of legal green card citizens and travellers (scholars, professionals, all sufficiently vetted). How much money (productivity) is lost to this? How much money are those politicians prepared to spend on walls and airport searches that could be allotted to something practical, like influenza research? It's not about practical things, it's about appealing to people's emotional weakness and irrationality. Fear drives hate, and hate is reciprocated.
Are you sure he wasn't a muslim who just happened to be really into sick skateboarding tricks
If someone decides to do something extreme they're only justifying the policy that you guys are criticizing. It's not wrong that there's a cause and that's the effect but on the other hand if someone is willing to do such terrible things because of that perhaps that policy could be considered justified in the first place?
How Does A Travel Ban Solve Home Grown Terror?
I'm not arguing the effectiveness of the policy, just the arguments against it that come from more of a pacifist's mindset.

I post a lot about real nazis. Also the Republican Party isn't my party. Is a Bernie supporter going to say the democrat party represents them?

Maybe if you put travel bans on more muslim countries then US citizens will stop killing each other.

this is just going to be another 9/11 waiting to happen under the trump administration, and they're going to use the kneejerk reaction to expedite more muslims out of the country. anyone who's remotely brown is going to get targeted.
