This is a new one with a few more glimpses of stuff.

is that the dwarf from the vanilla trailer
Wow, that CGI on the shot at about 37 second in, the one where they are standing on what I assume are the steps of the main building in Stormwind. The perspective is so off on that shot.

Yeah, it makes the front soldiers look like children.
the orcs are cgi, the monsters are cgi, the dwarves are cgi, many of the sets look like cgi
so why did they go with human actors
Even the armors are CGI in some shots I think
It so pointless to use regular actors in that case

what's wrong with that one big earring? is it just me? i feel like i'm looking at it wrong or something because it looks like a model straight out of wow

Design Decision?
Or maybe they felt people stilll associate total CG with kids movies?
I don't really know.
What the heck is going on in that last scene where he slides underneath the orc? It's like he effortlessly cut straight through him.
The opening shots in the desert look like a fan film.

"we've got some good stuff but i'm really not feeling it. give me dudes in plastic armor running in front of greenscreens"
Another fantasy movie I wished had been made in the 80s. It would have been cheesy, it would have been rated R, and it would have been real. I knew LotR was a unicorn.
Yeah, it makes the front soldiers look like children.
This was probably intentional, since in WoW all important people are roughly three times the size of normal people.

Man, I really hope all the big fight scenes are humans and orcs just standing beside each other, whacking back-and-forth waiting on cooldowns.

Well, one could hope.
Fuck, this movie looks like shit. And I had high hopes for it. Eat my shit, Duncan Jones.
I think this movie looks fun. I liked the start, a bit like the Warcraft 3 intro.
I dislike how the humans look like they've just stumbled in from an episode of Game of Thrones, while the other races maintain that stylized Warcraft look that they've shown in all of the trailers. It just feels odd. Were they afraid that they wouldn't get enough turnout from a full CG movie? Not enough funds, maybe?
i remember that i posted a message after my first one here and now its gone
im sad now
Orcs still look nicely detailed. Dwarves, though...feels like they took inspiration from Hearthstone art. Not in a good way
Oh wow this looks dumb
As recently I have been getting back into WoW lately I would hope this movie would be good but...damn. I knew it would be too good to be true with this movie.
LOTR did the perfect blend of cgi and human actors. Why couldn't this movie do the same in 2016?? Why?
you know fuck, I JUST realized why this looks bad.
It's not the CGI.
it's the Human actors.
This should have been "Blizzard Cinematic: The Movie" yet for some stupid fucking reason they thought Humans should be played by real people. Every scene that looks awful is one with real people in it.
Just look at that hilarious shot with the dwarf/person. If you cut out the human the dwarf looks pretty great, but together just looks obvious and bad.
This shit looks like a fan film.

lol this is what i first said intially and facepunch destroyed me for it
I agree. Since day one the mix of CGI and human actors didn't feel right. Actually it feels a lot like the Prequels where most scenes look computer generated with actors dropped in them. The orcs and now dwarfs seem to have that stylized look, they should've done the same with the humans.
Here's a good example of humans having exaggerated features:

God damn and it's good too, they gave the orc and human a lot of personality in just that small amount of space.
What was wrong with making a full CG one.
was it cost? time? what was going on
Can't get over the fact that Blizzard's in-game cut scenes look better.
Can't get over the fact that Blizzard's in-game cut scenes look better.
The cgi itself is technically more quality than the blizzard cutscenes but the real actors and I think toning down the warcraft style hurt them because you're right, the wow cinematics look so much better
[editline]19th March 2016[/editline]
But hey you know what, I don't give a shit if this looks bad long as it's an enjoyable warcraft fantasy adventure that doesn't take itself too seriously because Warcraft and WoW has always been kind of serious but they have fun with it and like to add cheesy humor here and there.
100 million dollar budget is just not enough for a movie like this.

It takes lots of work and money to make a full length 2 hour movie in Blizzards style, which usually are between 4-8 minutes.
