So, I've been wanting to go, but alot of reviews say its a scam, anyone have any opinions?
I went to S.H.I.T; they also said it was a scam. [editline]9th March 2011[/editline] Its on Google Maps, must be legit.
I got loads of mail from these people, and honestly, it doesn't seem very reputable. This probably isn't the best place to go for college advice, though.
The school is accredited, and doesn't seem to be a diploma mill. [editline]10th March 2011[/editline] However I do hear things about them spamming.
So, I've been wanting to go, but alot of reviews say its a scam, anyone have any opinions?
I recently got a brochure from them in the mail. If your all about media tech, go for it. they seem legit
Go too a normal college for media tech.
So, I've been wanting to go, but alot of reviews say its a scam, anyone have any opinions?
It's a total scam dude, why in the world would you go to some corporate-backed start up university that isn't known at all? Just don't waste your time and go there. It'll be a joke to your education.
They rape you when you walk in the door. Don't go.
Why not just go to to Arizona State?
They rape you when you walk in the door. Don't go.
I'll do it!
How far are you willing to move? Because personally, I'm going to Arizona State University, and they have FANTASTIC tech programs on ALL FOUR of their campuses.
So, I've been wanting to go, but alot of reviews say its a scam, anyone have any opinions?
Just wanted to say that they are accredited and have been around since 1983. I would suggest taking a look at some of their information on their website and also look on college board/college prowler for more info. Hope that helps!
Why not just go to to Arizona State?
Because it's a shit school
They sent me a shirt because I made a 29 on the Science portion of my ACT. I sent them a book, because I made a 34 on the reading portion. I still haven't heard back form them.
This is like taking a course in game design. [editline]23rd March 2011[/editline] As in nobody will take your degree seriously.
Sounds like a crummy "for profit" college. Also, whatever you do, don't got to Devry, Phoenix, Kaplan, or ITT Tech. There's just something wrong about going to a college that's advertised on [adult swim]. [editline]23rd March 2011[/editline]
This is like taking a course in game design. Just something that sounds more serious than game design.
I got a schollarship to go there without even applying for it due to the board being impressed with my "early accomplishments". I'm considering getting my degree in Open Source Technology there.
Not the strongest arguement, but
Go to a normal fucking state university or college, christ. Nothing good ever comes of places like this.
Any school that has to advertise in Game Informer using the slogan "Geeked at birth" probably isn't the highest quality of education you can get.
I'm planning on going to DigiPen since it's been regarded as one of the best schools for aspiring game devs and it seems quite credible even with Valve saying it is and have hired a number of its graduates. Anyone have any thoughts on DigiPen?

Anyone have any thoughts on DigiPen?
It's cool but you'll be in debt forever. And seeing as the majority of game dev companies don't care about your degree (just that you have one, and have a really good portfolio) it's really not nessicary.
Have they been bought out by some company or sponsored by some company recently?
Seriously, just go to a public university. It's hard to take a university seriously when Technology is in their title, but they aren't ABET accredited. Even DeVry has that :v:
All colleges and universities are a scam IMO. You spend over $50,000 a year to deal with shit professors and all you get is a piece of paper saying you're qualified to do XYZ, when you would probably be more qualified studying independently.

If I were lawyer would I want the guy who went to law school or the guy who claims that he is the "bestest master debater in the universe" to work for me?
