Lolicon, should it be legal or illegal. - General

This is kinda an offshoot from the pedophilia thread, I know, but it still seems different enough to warrant its own thread. To start with, where I live(Denmark), it's legal(Because of our freedom of expression), but I know that in most countries it's illegal, and I just can't see the point of it being illegal, I can understand child porn being illegal due to it (potentially) hurting minors, but since lolicon is drawn, and any animated lolicon is voiced by adults. It just seems odd that something that could potentially hold off the urges of pedophiles, that wouldn't hurt anyone to make, would be illegal, forcing them to support people that make child porn/exploit a child themselves. Legal, they're just drawings

As fucked up and gross as the entire concept of it is to me, there's no real solid link between pornography use and impulsive acts like rape. I don't disagree with it under the ideals it hurts nobody and there's a chance it will give some sick fucker a way to help control urges he may have.

People should be more respecting of eachother, and instead of lashing out at others that has different opinions, verbally or physically, how about you respect their opinion/lifestyle/sexuality/fetish, and let them respect yours?

Pictures honestly never really influenced someone to go rape children. There is far worse things out there to consider making illegal. Anime style pictures of little girls looking suggestive is not one of them.

I don't think it should be forbidden. I'd rather have those sick people jerk of to drawings, than to actual Child pornography.

I thought the reason Child porn is illegal is because there's victims. It's not like these pictures are going to influence people to go out and rape a child.

Even though I personally do not like lolicon, I don't think it should be illegal. With child pornography there's a victim, with lolicon there isn't. And if there's an ample supply of stuff like lolicon perhaps it'll lower the amount of victims in the process, since there won't be need to act out shit like this in real life.

Though, the main reason why lolicon etc is illegal in most countries, is that the law covers it without meaning to, mainly because it was made way before lolicon got popular. And I don't think legalizing lolicon would be a smart idea if you wanted to stay in power, that could be twisted a million fucking ways.

I don't like it but I can say it should not be illegal. As Orkel said, they are just drawings and you can't rape them, so you are not doing wrong things however if it's forbidden maybe the reason is that it can lead to pedophilia.

Still, if it is an uncontrollable urge and they look at lolicon as an alternative to acting on it then I don't have a problem.

I acknowledged that if you've got an attraction to children but you know better than to act on it you're not doing anything illegal.

Legal. No sense in banning a victim-less drawing. There's no evidence to suggest that people that like lolicon are more prone to viewing child porn and there's no evidence that they're likely to molest a child. In fact, the evidence points in the opposite direction. People who have porn available of their sexual fantasies are less likely to perform them in real life.

We should be able to draw anything we want.

However, these are just drawing, nomatter what's happening to them, the characters depicted are not real and are not covered by real world laws. I'd use the same example with videogames, movies, anything. You can murder countless people in you want in GTAIV, but they're just characters in a game and what happens to them has no bearing on the real world.

I forget where I watched it but in a documentary jail officers were sweeping convicted paedophiles rooms looking for contraband Anyway these images were also on the list I just remember it because 1 inmate had a picture of a youth dancing. The guy was like you know this is against policy and the inmate protested. "part of rehabilitation" Id say its wrong and should be made illegal. Stop all sources of satisfaction for these mentally ill people.
