The South China Morning Post recently reported that a man attempted to bring his pet turtle through airport security by disguising it as a hamburger from Kentucky Fried Chicken.
The man, identified as having the last name Li, was traveling to Beijing on July 29 when the individual monitoring the X-ray saw a few “odd protrusions” in the “burger” the man had packed.
When they asked to inspect the man’s luggage more closely, Li reportedly maintained: “There’s no turtle in there, just a hamburger…There’s nothing special to see inside.”
“This is, of course, pretty much a guarantee that there definitely a turtle inside that hamburger, and, lo and behold, that’s exactly what security found after taking him aside for a closer inspection,” Geekosystem wrote.
Who would buy a burger from Kentucky Fried Chicken?
I have to wonder what the turtle was thinking
in china kfc has a way bigger selection

like KFC in china is completely different, they focus on burgers more than buckets of chicken
I can confirm this, it's pretty much just a regular fast food chain like McDonalds/whatever.
They even have a morning selection on some train stations.

Yum... turtle.
Li said he just wanted to bring the “beloved” pet with him while away, but eventually agreed to let a friend temporarily care for the creature.
As silly as this is, its kind of adorable how much he loves that turtle

I want a turtle now
This is like something you'd see in a cartoon.
I am waiting for PETA's response to ANIMAL CRUELTY. Turtle is disguised as a hamburger and than a cop bit into the burger and saw blood coming out of it. Looking closely he ate a turtle...
This is so sweet oh my god

I've seen some pretty bad liars in my day but this is like a 5 year old lying about the cookie jar.
It's probably just the translation I guess. Nobody is that bad.

he then noticed that his mouth was bleeding and that he was missing several teeth because he just tried eating a fucking turtle, shell and all

He probably thought he was a jedi.

Turtle vs. tortoise is the bane of many herpetologists, different places/groups use different standards. For example the box turtle is a tortoise by British standards because it does not have flippers, but is a turtle by American standards because of its behavior and habitat.

Turtles make great pets. You have to be careful though a lot of states have weird laws on keeping turtles because of salmonella issues that occur when they are kept improperly.
My nan had a pet tortoise, they're awesome.

In the UK KFC's fillet burgers are pretty popular.
I love how no one has mentioned how the tortoise in the OP has its shell detached from its body, don't you think that would be the main giveaway that it's a photoshop?

I mean, try walking around without an upper spine, that's pretty much what it would be like.
That's why I asked to see the actual disguise.

The picture's been my friend's Chrome theme for at least a year now.
It would be nice to see the actual turtle burger.
