NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- A man who sneaked through security to meet a woman caused Sunday's terminal shutdown at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. A surveillance video released Thursday shows a guard leaving his post, allowing the man to sneak into the terminal without going through security. Sunday evening's security breach caused massive delays after federal officials closed the terminal for six hours. The video shows the guard leaving his podium for several seconds. The woman then comes from inside a secure, passengers-only area and motions to the man, who ducks under a rope. The couple embraces and walks arm-in-arm past the vacant podium. The video was released at the insistence of New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg.
Source: http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2010/01/07/us/AP-US-Newark-Airport-Evacuation.html The video: You've got to be fucking kidding me... At least, on the bright side, we're getting some better security measures instead of some 'smoke and mirrors'.
He should have blown the place up to teach them a lesson.
Well, someone's getting fired.
Well, someone's getting fired.
The guard was 'reassigned' then the guard resigned on his own terms.
I've been to that airport many, many times coming from West Palm Beach and going to West Palm Beach, wow.
