A change in publisher hasn't disrupted Saints Row 4 and Metro: Last Light's development too much, it seems. Koch Media, the games' new publisher, says that both games will be arriving later this year.

Klemens Kundratitz told GI.biz that he has "no doubt" SR4 and Last Light will arrive in 2013. He added that both franchises are a good fit for Koch. The company has a strong presence in Europe, where they expect Metro: Last Light to perform the best, and they can provide creative freedom to Volition as they craft another lewd Saints Row adventure. They also feel they've grown enough to properly handle AAA projects like these games.
PLEASE tell me if anyone posted this earlier, I looked and searched and found nothing.
I really hope these games don't turn out like shit on their new publishers and actually are great
Good to hear, hope the other devs continue much the same, especially relic.
Hopefully Saints Row 4 has as much customization as Saints Row 2, that was my biggest complaint with The Third.
Saints Row 4 needs more stuff to do. The Third felt lacking in comparison to the first and second games.
Fuck yeah.
Saints Row 3 was amazing. Best game I've ever played.
I wasn't a big fan of SRTT, it took a few too many steps in the wrong sorts of directions for me to properly enjoy it as much as I enjoyed SR2, but if Volition is being given as much creative freedom as they say then that's really great.
I forget though, what happened to the Red Faction licence exactly? I take it Koch acquired the publishing rights to that too?
I hope Metro Last Light has the same aspects of it.
I seriously love the videos of it, and I hope to see more of the game, closer to release.
SR3 was a catastrophe. As its own game sure it would've been decent but it's the worst one out of the three SR games.
Seriously, they kill Johnny-fuckin'-Gat in the first TEN MINUTES of the game and then pretty much ignore his death throughout.

From what I remember, THQ dissolved Red Faction when Armageddon failed to sell well. It wasn't part of the auction.

they hardly ignored his death
having not played the first two games I wished they'd shut the fuck up about him tbh

Go play Saints Row 2. Like... now.

You thought so? They never shut up about him when I played. Every two seconds it was "this one's for you, Johnny"

:I Johnny Gat was the best character in the whole damn game.
I really hope Metro turns out to be good. There were so many disappointmenting game releases last year and this year isn't starting off well either.
I loved SR2,but the PC port is horrible.
I want SR4 to basically be SR2 with new stuff, better graphics and A BETTER PORT

Metro Last Light is practically finished. All they're doing right now is polishing, so any vast changes on the publisher's part are doubtful at this point.
Glad about Metro, a bit on the fence about SR4. I'll be honest, I was never big on Saints Row but I did enjoy SRTT and I'm not sure if releasing another one within this year is a very good idea, just seems like it could use a bit more time to develop, but that's just my opinion.

go play 2, and don't give some bullshit excuse like "the port sucks so i'm not even going to try"
it's a fucking fantastic game, one of my all time favorites
Little worried about SR4. I was hoping a 2014 release since SR3 was only a 2012 release, but we'll see.
Maybe they cut a lot of development time in half if they're reusing Steelport, albeit expanded slightly. Wouldn't mind a combo of Stilwater and Steelport.
Edit: well fuck me, SR3 was released in 2011. Where did that time go?
I never played SR1 or SR2
I found SR3 really enjoyable, but I can see how it would shit on the others
So long as Saints Row 4 has coop like SRTT, it's good with me. That game may not have been the best, but my friend and I had a shitton of fun playing around in it, and it gave us quite a few hours of enjoyment. I wish I could say the same for Saints Row 2, but the game was too unoptimized and we never really got to play it because his game would always just be unplayable. Besides, I still think we would've enjoyed The Third better, with all it's jets and shit and the colorful world and everything. One thing we didn't like, though, was the focus on the host, especially in the DLC. I would like some more... integration with the second player.
Haven't gotten around to playing Metro 2033, I got it from a humble Indie Bundle. Keep meaning to play it. Frankly, this company hasn't given us a reason not to trust them, so for now, this could be pretty great. They DID promise not to stray from their roots.
I much preferred Saints Row 2 to Saints Row the Third, SR2 felt more like an actual gang that had to slowly take over the city. With SR3 it just felt like everything important had already been done.
Saint's Row 2 would be better than Saint's Row The Third for me if Saint's Row 2 wasn't a shit PC port and/or I had a console that can play Saint's Row 2.
If Last Light ends up blowing I'll go cry somewhere. Everything they've shown of it so far has seemed excellent.

iirc, the voice actor for Gat didn't want to work on the SR series anymore, but he agreed to record for the first scene.

First off, spoilers.
One of the MAJOR DRIVING CHARACTERS OF THE GAME DIES, better have 2 missions that deal with his death while never elaborating on it.
They even used Johnny as a marketing mascot and he's killed in the second cutscene and from there on out after shooting up his funeral procession, it's all over.
You don't see the funeral, Johnny is almost never mentioned, and there have been minor characters in the game series that had more memorable and significant deaths. You don't exactly have much weight in your take here because you haven't played the first two. This is like only reading the Harry Potter book where Dumbledore dies and saying "i don't see the big deal, i just wish they would stop talking about him like it's a huge deal".
I see one guy has mentioned Metro: Last Light. While I couldn't really get into 2033, I definitely saw its appeal and I have high hopes for its sequel (then again, I haven't seen any gameplay for LL, so I'll just hold my judgement).
As for SR4, I feel it could be good, though I detect that it won't have what SR2 fans want; come on, it was originally concepted as a DLC for SR3. Sure, virtual reality can be expanded into so many things, but if it was based on SR3 it probably won't have a lot that SR2 had (I've never played SR2 before, probably during the summer I will though, to those die hard fans of it). Despite this, however, I see some good coming from it; I feel they would expand on previous ideas, add more customization (one of the things that has been clamored for), and, hopefully, allow SR3 dlc to be carried over (maybe same engine?).
Overall, I'll be looking forward to these games in the coming months.
Also, like it has been stated above, Gat's actor didn't want to do SR# anymore, so don't blame them for killing him off in the first scene. Of course, most people probably don't know that little fact, so I can't really be mad at either side.

Considering Relic was working on Warhammer 40k stuff and their new publisher also owns Creative Assembly working on Warhammer Fantasy stuff, I think it's a safe bet we'll see a loooot of Warhammer coming out of Sega in the next years.
They seriously think they'll have SR4 ready this year?
If that's the case, guys, I really don't think they're going to divert from their plans involving this:
