aka "Why?" I rant about the basics of why Mass Effect 3 is poorly written and how it affects gameplay by bringing up examples from the very first mission. Testing the waters of video game reviews that I'd like to continue. Hope it's educating! Part 1: Talking about poor, confusing writing: Part 2: Talking about how poor writing harms gameplay, and how the lack of gameplay can actually make a story worse: Part 3: Talking about how a poor gameplay mechanic, used to cover up the fact that there is no content, can hurt, or mean nothing to, story:
Awesome videos, can't wait for more.
Your way to monochrome in the way you talk, you should also get rid of the pointless angst.

Make more.
I never even thought that deeply about the beginning tram part. My mind feels opened.
Wow, that tram part sounds fucking retarded. I never got into mass effect (bought the first, didn't get very interested) and I am glad because ME3 looks like shit.
Wow, that tram part sounds fucking retarded. So if you didn't like the first one, yeah you would hate this one.
Fantastic work, I didn't think about the tram bit so much, just that oh that was lucky. As for the chase scenes I guess they expect the player to feel a sense of urgency through the story with what's at stake, but the writing and gameplay need to be better for that to be effective. I look forward to seeing more!
definitely needed cat rape and dead hookers -5/100
I've seen a lot of clips from the game, and everything is pretty stupid. Haven't heard that much about the gameplay itself, but they royally botched the writing. I'm glad I didn't waste money on the game. Shit writing, dumbed down gameplay, Bioware/EA money grubbing, terrible ending. No thanks.
They would have shit effect the character but that would be too video gamey and as we all know the best video games are interactive movies called video games so everyone's minds wouldn't explode.
Couple things you forgot. Im not sure where it was exactly but they also mention something about how they completely locked down the trams, and then why the FUCK does that Vega retard ram the fucking cerberus ship with his ship when it shows later that it has fucking guns?
I guess I kind of went over it, but if they completely locked down the trams then they should have just left them that way, make shep have to hack things to get them working or find another way around which, i never mentioned, would make for interesting gameplay. make him go outside and have to fight through the storm that keeps getting mentioned. and yeah the thing has guns but i guess that's ok, ramming the ship was exciting in the end and gave us a little character insight into vega. thanks for the comments, guys. i don't really mean to copy Mr. Plinkett or Red Letter Media, but I hope it's not too much either way to call it anything more than an "homage". [editline]7th April 2012[/editline]
Make more.
third and hopefully final video about ME3 is being made atm, will get posted probably in a few days? if not next week. planet scanning minigame is the last thing it's going to be about, without getting into areas of the game everybody has already ragged on about to death. [editline]7th April 2012[/editline]
Your way to monochrome in the way you talk, you should also get rid of the pointless angst.
i will attempt to be more colorful next time no but seriously i take criticism like this and actually consider it because what kind of jerk would i be if i didn't, but kept shitting on this game as much as i do? ive become a little more excited in this next video.

that was funny and for the most part valid, i enjoyed the shit out of that although, to the point about cerberus soldiers being terrible shots, it's because indoctrination slowly wastes away the host body, as we see with husks aside from that, a fucking hilariously good criticism

Like big ass blasters pointing out of the front.
Those were great. The same kind of things are nagging me as I play through the game now.

That would have destroyed the data. Ramming it at least had some chance of it not being blown up.
The guns probably would have completely destroyed the shuttle. That would have destroyed the data. Ramming it at least had some chance of it not being blown up.
Doubtful, when they were used the damage they inflicted on this tower thing wasn't even that great.
This is fantastic.
Doubtful, when they were used the damage they inflicted on this tower thing wasn't even that great.
except this is a flimsy metal ship that's being shot. [editline]8th April 2012[/editline] While I agree about the part with the storm, and how it should've affected gameplay, the things you highlighted AREN'T that big of a deal. There have been other games that do the whole "oh look your vessel is stranded... we'll send someone to clean it up and then die in the process". 007 Nightfire is the first game that comes to mind. The whole Liara not being shot was pretty silly, although I guess that's just the Stormtroopers Accuracy trope coming back into style. The Dr Eva thing you're right about, why does she wait? And I'm sure the Illusive Man doesn't give a fuck about losing troops, I mean he doesn't give a fuck about losing YOU, the man who [sp]blew the fuck out of the Collector Base/Blew the fuck out of the Collectors, and also killed a reaper[/sp]
yeah i understand the illusive man just throws troops everywhere not giving a fuck, but there's this line between not giving a fuck, and doing something that ends up helping shepard foil his plan (being dumb? not planning ahead? not thinking? not illusive man's character, sorry) liara not being shot is plot armor, i kind of get that. i've watched stargate sg-1 so i guess i should be used to it. but the whole situation is absolutely absurd and comedic when it's not trying to be, like those cerberus heavy troopers climbing through that vent and firing straight at her with curved bullets. if it was a situation where liara was behind cover and firing biotic energy at them from behind an object, instead of just making the troops look stupid, that would make her look skilled in combat. And making the main good guys look good should always be a priority. It would also show off biotic powers and how they're supposed to be used (instead we're left with a really forced tutorial afterwards when you HAVE to use liara to kill soldiers). there's just an infinite number of ways they could have done something that makes sense and still achieves the writer's goal. this is a theme throughout Mass Effect 3.
Agreed entirely. Should've had her use singularity on like a fan or something that was in the vent, suck them into it. You're right about the Illusive man thing too. Maybe it was just the squad acting dumb though, just saying "ah fuck the illusive man, let's blow the fuck outta shepard because he's obviously not invincible thanks to PLOT ARMOR!" I'm not sure how the husking/indoctrination works, but I'm sure they retained a bit of their cocky retarded mook personalities.
i still want to know how cerberus went from a 150 man scientific cell operation to an army capable of overrunning the fucking citadel in a matter of 6 months
Excellent video though, I'd watch some more if you made them, even though I love the game so far.
I always thought that the sand storm was a plot device to explain why Shepard and his team were having radio issues.
i still want to know how cerberus went from a 150 man scientific cell operation to an army capable of overrunning the fucking citadel in a matter of 6 months
Money, connections, and a whole lot of Shepard.
like did they just post an ad on kreghkslist or something
