The maker is apparently a famous anime creator. He made this and I think Muse saw it and decided to make it the official video. It's for a Resistance song so it's relatively old, I apologize if it's late.
no embed?
edit:
fuck this is sad
Balls how do I get it to work? Either it doesn't like the video or I'm doing something wrong.
Fixed it for ya. the link has to look like this: "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPBfaMsA97o[ /media]" No quotes, remove the space before the /

Love Exogenesis Part 3, Muse should make more symphonies
Wow, I've pretty much never cried at any form of media, but this actually made me tear up.

I can never decide which part of it I like best. Probably the first, although after seeing this video I may have to rethink things.
I'm not sure what's happening in this. I realize that it's sad and I tear up during the ending but I'm not sure what's happening to the guy. Why is he angry?

The whole video basically centres around a swinging pendulum, and they grow older, so time. There are a lot of depressing subjects in this.
I'm tearing up, man.
That bit where he tries to stop the pendulum...
It's like I'm watching Up again.

I'm pretty sure he's angry with himself for treating her so badly. So when she's about to die, he tries to reverse the pendulum so they can try again (like in the lyrics) and he can be a better husband. Then she stops him, because she's happy with how he is.
The other animations he has made for Muse are pretty cool....

...and weird.
So his wife went into a vegetative state and she woke up before she dies?
Nope, she was just crippled in a wheelchair.

If this is gonna make me fucking cry I don't want to watch it :(
Nope, she was just crippled in a wheelchair.
I think she had Alzheimer's or something, since she was constantly emotionless and the husband had to brush her hair for her.
Wait.. What happened to their daughter?

She seemed to move away from home, or something.

If you're wondering, this is actually from the perspective of their daughter.
Essentially, she moved away and returned every so often to greet them, found her mother dead, and was about to commit suicide. Vague memories of her childhood kept her alive, although under a cloak of depression. She eventually found a boy, just as depressed as she was, and much like her father in terms of hell raising.
In the end, they get married and the pendulum process repeats.
It really is depressing if you think about the two videos. It's trying to say that everyone ends up with the same fate, in a nutshell. We all have hardship in life and we all end up dead in the end.
I take that with a grain of salt, and brush it off as motivation to just live my life however I want to. After all, we've all gotta' die.
