Something i did sometime, tell me what you think: CLICK HERE FOR THE PIC Facepunch, stop downscaling my stuff!
I like it. The fire looks a little.. off, to me. I don't really know why.
It's because it looks as if the fire is in front of the bullet and not surrounding it- if you made it look like the fire was spiraling around the bullet the bullet would feel more real and three dimensional.

I am not a professional critic like you, good sir.
The shattered text looks great, but the larger shards flying off look quite artificial. Also I don't like the bullet, the perspective seems weird to me. I'm guessing the text is at an angle, with the start of the word further away, and the bullet is coming through the D towards us. I think the bullet should have slightly more of a head-on angle to make it more believable.
It makes no sense, why didnt The bullet shatter The rest of the word.
It makes no sense, why didnt The bullet shatter The rest of the word.
I think it's because the word is at an angle to us, the S is smaller than the D- due to perspective I'm guessing. But the bullet should be more facing us, if this is the case.
It makes no sense, why didnt The bullet shatter The rest of the word.
I think it did, it's just that since the bullet has just went through the last letters they are not completely shattered yet. Think of it as a snapshot taken just after the bullet has went by. The cracks need some time to spread and completely blow the letters away.
Very nice. Rated artistic.
If we assume the bullet is in a realistic size the fire would have no chance of looking the way it does. I think the text looks amazing, but as it's been mentioned, the bullet is off.
It's a shame he's banned at the moment.
Also the bullet should spin!
Updated the OP with a new version!
I think it did, it's just that since the bullet has just went through the last letters they are not completely shattered yet. Think of it as a snapshot taken just after the bullet has went by. The cracks need some time to spread and completely blow the letters away.
Ok, so what Fetret said was correct. My intention was to create kind of a snapshot (That's why I disregarded using excessive motion blur) of a bullet breaking through a glass window (the window is supposed to be off screen, on the far right, thats where most of the splinters come from). The reason why the text shows different states of damage is that the bullet just went through, so the letters on the left were just penetrated and weren't shattered yet. And about the bullet: Its freaking hard to find a fitting stockimage of a flying bullet, so I had to improvise and I thought it turned out ok.
Could be used as a movie title, imo.
The shattered text looks great.
