But in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," now playing in local theaters, the webbed one faces a potentially greater conflict: Letting his loyal fans down. I've used rotten tomatoes for ages and I really can't remember them ever having to change their listed critic consensus like that lol. Though really if you look at the average rating, it wasn't that bad a drop. I'll still check the movie out at some point regardless.
It's the kind of movie where it ends and you're like "well that was good" but then you take one step out of the theater and you realize all the plot holes and wasted villains and stupid decisions and you're like "woah that was not good".
I still like the older movie's mask better than the new one.
pure teen angst in this oh god it was horrible
Seems average.
I just saw this about 3 hours ago and yeah, I'd say it was pretty "meh". The Electro arc was actually about as good as I think they could have made it, given that it was a mediocre movie to begin with. Green Goblin was kinda just pasted in and somewhat mixed with Electro, and came to a pretty unsatisfying conclusion. Rhino was literally just slapped onto the movie in the last 10 minutes and was extremely sub-par ([sp]remember that part in the trailer where it looks like Spidey and Rhino have an intense fight scene? That trailer was the ENTIRE scene, and then there's a cliffhanger action mid-manhole-cover-swing[/sp]) Overall I'd say it was maybe 7/10. Maybe. Definitely not worth $16.50 to see in 3D, though.
Just came out of the theaters watching this. It's surprisingly very enjoyable. Not good... but enjoyable as a superhero film altogether.
How is the game?

This is what happens when you get hacks like Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman writing your script. They don't give a shit whether it's good or not as long as the check clears. They're in charge of writing the next movie too, so look forward to that shit. Oh and if you're unfamiliar with those names, they're the ones responsible for the scripts of Transformers 1 & 2, Cowboys and Aliens, Star Trek Into Darkness etc.
I saw it for an advanced screening as I work at a movie theatre. It was better than I thought, but still only okay.
I dunno, I liked it a lot. It had some flaws for sure, but as a Spidey fan I enjoyed it thoroughly. I don't think it's really even close to being as bad as 3.
Nothing can be worse than 3. Why? This scene: I mean. This is either acting of the worst or best quality. He looks like the biggest complete wanker in the whole of human history. This scene cannot be diminished by time. It's nearly as shitacularlymazing as the Dark Knight Rises plane scene.
Sony's film studio is flat out inferior to Disney's, granted Sony is going to hold unto the rights to Spiderman as long as they can cause once Disney gets it, they will keep it for good.
I actually really liked the movie, it stayed true to the comic books and was very enjoyable. I thought it was way better than the first one, and way better than the 1 - 3 with Toby Maguire.
Once I saw the trailer I was expecting it to be bad. I mean you have Electro, Green Goblin and Harry Osborne, AND Rhino? I can understand having 2 bad guys if you use one as a flunky but this film has 3 films worth of bad guys crammed into it. Did they learn nothing from Spiderman 3?
That was easily my favorite Spider-Man movie. I don't understand the mixed reviews. It may have been crowded with villains and plot threads, but... ...it worked. It just works so well.
The acting and dialogue was pretty terrible imo, had some great schemes and electrode and goblin were pretty cool.

So the movie is apparently mediocre. Hows the game?
So the movie is apparently mediocre. Hows the game?
not great
So the movie is apparently mediocre. Hows the game?
Apparently also mediocre and constantly compared to the Spiderman 2 game. Maybe spiderman just can't translate well into movies or sony can't make superhero films for shit
Honestly I didn't really like it that much. It wasn't terrible, but I think it was the Verge that pointed it out, which is that the difference between this and the Avenger's Marvel movie series is really obvious, in terms of writing anyway. It feels a lot campier and I had a pretty hard time really getting invested in the characters. There were a few times where I couldn't help laughing at some of the scenes. The bridge romance scene especially, where the relatively obvious green screen jacked up the camp-ness. It's enjoyable, but I did feel disappointed afterwards.
I think I'll check the movie out just to see how [sp]Gwen dies.[/sp] (almost anyone who is even slightly familiar with Spiderman should know this spoiler, but I'll tag it anyways) Is it true that [sp]Harry snaps her neck after Peter saves her from falling, or is it more akin to the comics where it's Peter's fault?[/sp]
[sp]He webs her but she like, fucking smacks right into the ground and bounces back up.[/sp]
That description alone makes it sound hilarious, like something out of a Looney Tunes cartoon. Meh, I'll check it out anyway.
[sp]He webs her but she like, fucking smacks right into the ground and bounces back up.[/sp]
[sp]The best part is the margin of error is JUST tiny enough that she slaps the back of her head on the pavement, and only the back of her head, which makes this kind of pathetic slapping sound. It's a pretty funny scene tbh, at least out of complete context.[/sp]
The first movie was just dull. It reeked of a desperate attempt by Sony to keep their rights to Spidey, and the guy who plays Peter Parker was a terrible choice. The rest of it was just forgettable. I am not surprised this one isn't doing to well. I didn't even bother seeing it.
