Whenever somebody posts shit, it's usually a troll. But sometimes, it's a lurker who's been reading MS Paint for a while, and has just worked up the courage to try and post some art. Trouble is, they can't draw worth a shit, so they use stick figures to be safe. And then they get flamed for it, and they get put off of contributing to this board anymore.
I think that if some of our more talented artists (you know who you are) gave tutorials and lessons on basic to intermediate drawing concepts like shading, figure drawing, spriting, etc., it would help cut down on a lot of the shitposting that's gone on lately. Granted, it won't stop trolls and griefers, but getting more quality, contributing members will help tip the troll/artist ratio in our favor.
Thoughts?
I have never used any tutorials so far, I just picked up MSpaint and started drawing.
And no, I've never ever done any of those art classes either, just practice a lot I'd say.
pfft mspaint tutorials...really?
Only one I've used

I don't agree. There is plenty material online. With lots of drawing techniquet, ms paint tips and tricks.
To anyone that needs tutorials there is plenty online. We could have a sticky with all the links in one place though.

I wouldn't call them MS Paint tutorials, because that implies that you're teaching people how to use MS Paint, which frankly anyone with half a brain can do. What I'm suggesting is more like drawing lessons, with a focus on drawing in MS paint. It can help people develop their own artistic styles and move away from stick figures.
So what you're basically asking is for guides on how to draw, where as Nyaa pointed out there are several of them online.
I also agree with a sticky with several of them linked, but this could be taken even further ; much like the MS Paint competition thread, you could have weekly subjects where people are 'forced' to draw something completely new and fresh. That way you can push the boundaries and draw basic stuff (naked people is one of those things) to get out of your comfort zone.

I think that a stickied thread with links to tutorials would be good, especially since good tutorials are tough to find. Most good tutorials are either "Here's some nifty tricks you can try in MS Paint!" or "Here's how to draw". There's very little overlap between the two. I thought that if people here started making their own tutorials here, it would apply to this board a little better.
And yes, more art contest-type threads is a great idea.
A sticky with links would be pretty cool, reminds me of the thread with online store links in the Airsoft forum
Everyone can use the tools provided by MS Paint. The trick is that using those tools only, how can one achieve something that's not directly possible? Planning. You need to memorize all the functions and possibilities of all the tools, bugs and gimmicks in Paint, and then in your mind you can create a logical pathway of functions that you can follow to achieve a certain result that wouldn't otherwise be possible just using the standard tools. You can also emulate tools that are available in more advanced image editing software, and try to replicate their results on Paint. 50 times more work, but same result and only using Paint.
The black&white mode is not just for drawing black and white. You can use it to create dithered patterns, or to trace things using white on top of a picture and then changing it to B&W. Stretching and shrinking a picture without selecting enables some shitty multisampling, and if you shrink a 100 pixel wide picture to 1% width, all of the colors on the left side of the 100 pixels are equalized with those on the right side and you can "50% blend" colors with ease.
Effective use of Paint is pure logic with a little skill. :)
Until about 3 years ago I'd never used paint and had little artistic experience. I've never drawn a stick figure and the same can be said for most artists in paintpunch area. Theres plenty of paint helps online via a search engine. The assistance the stick figure 'artists' need are artistic help, not MS Paint exploit tutorials or tricks.
