This is the full 1 hour and 33 minute documentary that originally aired on the Discovery Channel, about two internationally built robot probes searching for alien life on the fictional planet Darwin IV. The show uses sophisticated computer-generated imagery, which is interspersed with interviews from such notables as Stephen Hawking, George Lucas, Michio Kaku and Jack Horner. I remember watching this years ago during the summer, was pretty interesting.
I still remember this. The Daggerwrist was my favorite.
Shit, I remember this, this was fucking badass.
Remember seeing this a long time ago, loved it.

The creatures always creeped me out, but this show was so amazing. I was absolutely stunned at its graphics when it came out.
OH GOD I FUCKING LOVED THIS [editline]11th August 2011[/editline] although the ending was tragic
Anyone else notice these? Motherfucking Xen trees
One of those speakers is from MSU? Fuck yeah!
I wish they hadn't ended like that, I wanted to see the squids reaction to the end of the hologram.
Wasn't this on Discovery Channel?
Wasn't this on Discovery Channel?
Does anybody read the thread anymore?
This is the full 1 hour and 33 minute documentary that originally aired on the Discovery Channel
Aww I felt bad for Ike and Leo
I like how the spaceship just goes right into a solar system and past planets without experiencing any gravitational pull at all.
Oh, the warm fuzzy feeling of nostalgia, how i miss you.
I still think the Ocean was the coolest part of the whole thing. Hands down my favorite alien creatures were those leviathan creatures that walked on it.
the website of the dude behind this bonertastick fuckterpiece
Whoa where'd all the extra art come from? His website hasnt changed at all since I last looked at it 2-3 years ago.
Sucks that the red robot exploded on landing, one more robot that didn't launch a camera disk is all there needed to be.

I fucking loved these things.
Fuck you OP I remember this. It was the best thing ever.
I remember watching this years ago, pretty awesome.
Oh man, I loved this. One of the best shows to be ever presented on Discovery Channel.
My favorite creatures we the ones that we natural fighterjets. Those were so badass. i wish humans were fighterjets :smithicide:
I like how the spaceship just goes right into a solar system and past planets without experiencing any gravitational pull at all.
If you're moving fast enough, the gravitational pull won't mean much before you blast past the planet.
How is George Lucas qualified to talk about the science of alien planets? He directed Star Wars. A sci-fi fantasy. It's like getting David Bowie to chip in on interplanetary travel because he sang Space Oddity.
I remember this motherfucker. I liked the book better. the website of the dude behind this bonertastick fuckterpiece
Why did you like the book better? In the book humanity almost wiped it's self out, fucked up and we're getting help from super intelligent aliens to save our planet and launch this expedition. I fucking HATED that. I saw the documentary first and when I found out that's what happened in the book it pissed me off. Can't Humanity be credited with anything? Even a fictional exploration of another planet? Is that such a stretch? To have a little faith and not assume Humanity nearly destroys it's self and than throw in a stupid cliche that some fucking alien race has to HELP US to do things that I believe, given enough time we'd be fully capable of doing ourselves. No it fucking pisses me off. God damn. Humans deserve a little credit. Which is why this documentary made me so proud when I watched it. That years and years, even after I'm dead it's possible that we'll be able to visit other worlds and with that possibility a slim chance we'd find life. We don't need help and we won't destroy ourselves in the meantime.
I remember this, I re-watched it about a year ago.
I remember this, it is as fascinating for me now as it was back then.
Some of them gave me nightmares [editline]11th August 2011[/editline] Back then, not now
