hopefully story won't be as botched as it was with season 1
First season was pretty great until the last episode went wonky
Kate strips for Jesus :buddy:
I got this game long after it came out, knew nothing about it all, and had no expectations, and it blew me away. Glad to hear it's getting a sequel.
Holy fuck yes please
The most fun I've had with a game in a long time was a bunch of friends and I sitting around completing this game in a night. Super excited for this
Fuck yeah. This really cheered me up after seeing what happened to Hitman.
i haven't even played the game but i'm still excited because life is strange was really interesting and fun to watch being played.
The game was quirky but good until the ending, which is one of hte worst I've seen
Life is Strange is one of those games I really shouldn't have liked, but I enjoyed it a lot. The last episode was definitely a bit strange, but everything else was great.
Really glad to see DONTNOD giving the episodic story game genre another try, especially considering how Telltale nowadays is a shadow of it's former self, pumping out identical games one after another on their ancient engine.
(I am still amazed how a small french studio managed to release a game that's miles above anything Telltale has done both artistically and technically....though not on the writing department. While I enjoyed the first season, I can definitely see why people would dislike or even hate Life is Strange.)
I liked Life is Strange WAY more than I thought I would. Guess I appreciated the little window into high-school life, with that tween-ass dialogue that reminded me of my own cringiness. Very much looking forward to the next one, though I wonder how they're going to continue it.

Max & Chloe's story is finished and it gives them way more freedom.
I wonder which game mechanic are they transferring to season 2? The time rewind returning will feel... weird, without Max.
This was my first "movie with button prompts" game and honestly I was more frustrated by it than anything. The writing left a lot to be desired, and I don't just mean the dialogue (though that in itself is plenty atrocious enough to ruin the entire game), it just never got past being "modern Catcher in the Rye but with a scifi twist"
I get it. Holden is a character that is stuck in the past—what if our character can LITERALLY GET STUCK IN THE PAST, complete with a museum where past memories are frozen. It's an interesting enough idea to tackle but frankly if you've read Catcher in the Rye, there's really not much here for you to chew on that you didn't already (it's not like CitR is even that good to begin with, but you know, I try my best not to come off as too much of a contrarian asshole so I'll leave that for another time).
Maybe I'm being unfair by expecting it to do more than a fucking literary classic but if you're going to make so many connections to said literary classic, even going so far as to give your character the same last name, and your game is extremely reliant on its narrative to be any good then I just expect more.
Also I saw that twist coming a mile away [sp]literally the first scene, the first fucking scene, I said 'oh man I bet that guy's going to turn out to be an asshole'[/sp]

I'll probably play this new one though tbh.
I mean I did finish the first one after all, for all the faults I see in it for some reason I'm intrigued enough to keep playing. I think part of it is because I do see potential here, I always appreciate it when games at least try to be more literary with their narratives; but I'm not gonna lie, another part of it is also because I enjoy laughing at the bad lines.
"Who even cares? This class is hella bullshit!"
I liked it right up until the ending.
[sp]A: Retcon the entire series, rendering all of your choices and interactions moot.
B: Let everyone die, rendering all of your choices and interactions moot.[/sp]
This is a universe where fucking Mass Effect 3 happened. Why would you let something that mirrors it so closely happen?
Honestly, I think the bad, rushed ending was because they ran out of funding. Hopefully with a second game or series or season or whatever this is going to be called, they won't run into the same problem.

Not really comparable to ME3. Picking A means Max learns her lesson and achieves a greater understanding of herself and others, so calling it moot is grossly inaccurate.
please no
i didn't play it my self but i watched it and i found it super cute and hope they do an even better job on the next!
Despite the horrific attempt at hip adolescent dialogue, it was actually kind of interesting and had a neat gimmick.

The dialogue felt like a French middle aged man's attempt to sound like a 20 year old American girl, because that's exactly who wrote the dialogue. They need a script supervisor or something, someone with a better awareness of what American teenage culture is like.
Life is Strange 2: Hella on Earth

If they keep the time rewind feature intact, it would be just boring. If they devise something completely new instead, then why even call it "life is strange". I mean, I know it's all about characters, with the time rewind being a good tool to present the story, and I liked the original game even despite it's horrific ending, but now i feel like they're just trying to use a well known title.

Maybe this new guy has the ability to tell the future? This way they could keep the "time rewind" while keeping Max unique.
I didn't mind Ending A. There has been a shitton of foreshadowing and things telling you that "You cannot change the past" in all cliche time travel fashion.
Ending B just needed more development or shouldn't be used at all.
Because this is an episodic game like Mass Effect series, you can't have a huge impact on accumulating every choice into one of many specified endings without polarizing new players.
Mass Effect isn't really episodic though? Telltale games is a better comparison

Maybe they could connect the powers in some way? I don't know, I just want more of that atmospheric story driven gameplay with interesting characters.
I'm optimistic, but I will admit It's going to be really hard for them to create characters as likable as Max & Chloe.

Honestly it all depends on the coordinate system you use. Technically you can treat the first several "runs" where something goes wrong as the ability to see the future, with the only real run being the last, successful one. So i think having that ability won't really change anything story wise.
I unexpectedly loved this game. Despite I didn't grow up an edgy teen girl in the American North-West it really felt nostalgic as shit for some reason.
I think the soundtrack played a huge role into that. Reminded me a ton of my teenage years, without the time travel powers.
