I recently bought a novation impulse keyboard, the one with 49 keys. I don't know jack shit about keyboards, but it also included an electronic drum pad, which I also wanted, so it seemed like a good deal. Now, I don't know if I got ripped off or not and bought a shit keyboard, but that's not the point
I'm currently using reason, but I want to know you guy's opinion on what DAW is the best to start with? Or the best one in general, I guess.
I want to use synths and record drum beats, and record guitar and vocals over them, which reason doesn't let me do but I guess it isn't too much trouble to record separately and join them later elsewhere, like audacity or something like that.
Also, I already have a few sites to learn piano chords and scales, but anything else I should know about? Could someone point me towards the right direction?
Learn some basic music theory. A lot of people I know use Ableton, and I've heard its a pretty solid free DAW. I understand Pro Tools pretty well but I can't figure out Ableton just because it has a really bad interface, but whatever.
