Too bad he wasn't quite pushing the car to its limits. In iracing he did a 1:08 lap on that track in indycar dallara circa 2011
Amazing video but the ending was kinda awkward 'cause I duked $500 for my old Logitech G25 + a few sims, and for those money I could've gotten into folkracing instead, so the whole "gives the little guys a chance to be in the big league" deal is too edgy for my taste.
he seems really awkward at times
he also threw up under his helmet while driving and had to open the visor, poor guy
It's too bad he didn't have time to adjust to the weather / train physically to better deal with the conditions.
However, 1:24 sounds really good to me for a guy who hardly drives in the real world at all - certainly better than I could do.

Honestly, he sounds a little bit like Kimi Räikkönen back when he started F1, kind of short, awkward answers since his English wasn't that good. He'll improve over time.

He's finnish, every finnish person I've met (5, basically 33% of the population of Finland) is a bit awkward.

I think you underestimate just how intense racing can be.
I'm a driver myself, and I suck at simracing. While I am pretty decent at real racing. For example, I can't beat my real life times in iRacing or any other sim on an identical laser scanned track with a BETTER car (spec wise) then I use in real life.
Having done both I can say that while sim-racing simulates A LOT of things about racing, it's a whole different world doing the real thing.
