So like, yeah. I wanna get a Korg synth badass, blah blah. I wanna aim for a sound like Enter Shikari (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98Qy6FhugBY&feature=channel_page) or just any hardcore/screamo band that uses a Korg Board. BUT I have no idea what to look for in a korg board. Help?
number of oscilators, types of waveforms available, filters, effects, lfo's and all of that jazz
number of oscilators, types of waveforms available, filters, effects, lfo's and all of that jazz
I see! ANYWHO, any recommendations? I just want something that has like, good capabilities, doesnt weigh a million pounds or cost a million dollars, and just something REALLY that i can screw around with.
I guess a microKORG would work for you, considering that's what Enter Shikari uses
I've got KorgDS. Though I suck with it and I have no basis for comparison.
If you don't mind the cheap plastic, the Korg X50 is pretty good. However, I think Korg's workstations are better than their synths.
Look at Korg EMX-1, It's what ES also use and is pretty much got everything in one. EDIT: Also, could be considered cheap for what you get after seeing others below.
Why are you so set on Korg, there's way better synths out there, and all the synth sounds in that video are sounds that almost any decent synthesizer can spit out. I've got an Access Virus TI2 Desktop. They're a bit on the expensive end of the spectrum (desktop is $2299, and the keyboard version is $3149). The Nord Lead is amazing man get it.
MicroKORG will be fine for this guy to be honest. It's what I want to get, and just check this shit out:
Get a MicroKORG. I have one, and it is excellent.
I really want one :(.
If you don't want to pay over a thousand bucks for a keyboard, I'd also recommend a MicroKORG.
