Frontman Lemmy has also cut two shows short in that time, firstly in Salt Lake City last week and then in Austin on Tuesday. Lemmy walked off stage four songs into the Salt Lake City gig last week, blaming breathing difficulties on the altitude. He managed just three tracks in Austin. The San Antonio show went ahead without Motorhead, as Saxon stepped in to headline.
Poor guy.
Lemmy's the fuckin man, but he's getting old. Part of me hopes he takes a break and doesn't kill himself performing. The rest of me knows that's the way he wants to go. :v:
The man is 69 years old and trying to blast out those same gritty, strained vocals he has for decades. He should probably just call this his last tour. I'd hate to see him hurt his vocals or worse. The end of that video is sad. He looks embarrassed, especially walking off with a cane like that. It's still really strange to see how age affects people like this. Obviously it happens but it's still strange to me.
Didn't he recently announce he switched from whiskey to vodka for health reasons? He's never going to take a break and go quietly.
Lemmy also had that problem at Wacken 2013. They stopped after 3-4 songs but played their full set in the year after that.
Made me laugh out loud for some reason. The healthy choice is not drinking.
Lemmy isn't a normal human being. They tested him and he's pretty much immune to alcohol, he's been drinking constantly (and I think eating nothing but red meat) ever since he got famous and he's in near-perfect health.

lemon's dead [editline]3rd September 2015[/editline] At least the crowd seemed understanding :(
You're fucking kidding me right
Lemmy's like Ozzy, man. He's at the point where he's so fucked up that nothing can kill him.
near-perfect health.
he cant perform more than 4 sounds in a row and uses a cane
he's in near-perfect health.
New level of denial right here.
As much as I love him and respect him... just get some rest, man. You kicked ass for too long.
You're fucking kidding me right
At this rate, after all the decades of abuse, his body probably *runs* on the stuff. If he stopped drinking, he'd probably die, same as Keith Richards. I've read the guy is downright obsessed with measuring how much coke and booze does per day, he has it down to a surgical accuracy.
he cant perform more than 4 sounds in a row and uses a cane
For a 69 year old singer with a 40 year history of doing this who has literally only ate red meat, drank whiskey, and smoked ciggarettes like a human chimney for the majority of those years, he's doing okay for 69. Perfect health is certainly not true and quite the stretch, but the man, much like Keith Richards and Ozzy and some of the other old guard of metal and rock, they've enjoyed some minor levels of immortality.
