I learned a lesson when I temporarily lost my hearing.

This morning, I sat in my history resting my head on my fist.
Almost like this guy:

Except there was no pile of books and except with my fist by my right ear.
I sat there in that postion for about 35 minutes. When I took my head off my fist, I realized I couldn't hear from that ear. I didn't freak out, but I realized how much I depend on my hearing. The inside of my ear felt like ====----===, while a normal ear would feel like ==========. The feeling was incredibly uncomfortable and I could barely hear the teacher. It lasted for about 2 1/2 hours then started to fade in and out. It's all better now, but I learned a lot.
Many people don't realize how something as simple as hearing, can be so important. I also learned not to sit like that anymore. I thought I would just post this here to share with others that they should be thankful for the simple senses they barely even think about.
Thanks if you read all of this.
Make a thread about it.
There are way more comfortable ways to sleep on school desks you know!
I don't know what I'd do without hearing either but if I lost it I'd probably get a job making explosives or really loud sounds just so I can make life annoying for others without hearing problems.

Shut up.
Make a better thread then faggot.
Oh wait, judging by your ban/thread history, you can't.

Aural appreesh
I did this while sleeping once (I sleep on my side) and my ear was in intense pain and mostly deaf when I woke up. I also used earplugs at the last concert I went to - which was actually 3 concerts over a weekend - and only took them out for bands that I wanted to fully hear. It was nice being able to hear when I left each night, and the buzzing wasn't too loud when I was in a quiet environment.

A faster way to get your hearing back would've been sitting in the corner till your screen stopped flashing red
I'd rather be blind than deaf.
Edit: Imagine NOT BEING ABLE to hear Samuel L Jackson say "Royale with Cheese".
End the disagree massacre right there tbh.
Happened to me once, no big deal.
a+++++++ thread

you're crazy
I'd rather be blind than deaf.
If you were blind, you'd have to rely on others all the time.
If you were blind, you'd have to rely on others all the time.
And if you were deaf you'd not be able to listen to music. Fuck that!
Eather way, both sucks

Music. Speech. Create Visions in the mind.
Its all you need.
Imagine being deaf. It is terrible.
Stevie Wonder is blind, yet is one of the most popular artists of all time.
I just havent seen inspirational people who are deaf.

And it took you falling asleep in class to realize just how grateful you should be about how you were born with the ability to hear?
I seriously fear for people like you.
Go outside and be thankful you were born with eyes, with the ability to feel, touch, smell. You're experiencing things that some people would do anything to experience.
I once had Tinnitus for about a week after sitting right next to a speaker at a club. After that week I never sat next to a speaker again. Tinnitus fucking sucks.

I've got this but permanent, shit sucks
This happens to me all the time. No big deal.

How is that fair :saddowns:
I'd rather be mute than blind and/or deaf
I'd rather be mute than blind and/or deaf
Big deal. Being mute isn't the worst thing that could happen. Stephen Hawking mute? Fair enough.

I've realized it before, but this time I was able to be even more thankful because I had some sort of a feeling of being deaf. It was more a greater sense of appreciation then before.

Try the music section to truly appreciate them ears :v:
I'm actually deaf in my right ear because of a ruptured drum
couldn't play TF2 the same again.
it fucking sucks
there are working replacements for ears.
Think about it. You would never be able to watch movies, you wouldn't be able to drive, you couldn't play video games and you really couldn't have sex properly.

Video games, i'll let you have it.
But seriously, movies without sound?
Where would a deaf person need to drive to?
And sex, maybe its just you who can do it properly (sorry) :mmmsmug:

I'm not sure people get my drift. Being deaf would make you into a person who cant hear, trying to live a normal life.
But when you're blind, you must be able see beyond what you all think. Yes, obviously it will be an effort to handle it. But so what? You can be inspired.... Video games and sex aren't the most important things in life you know, unless thats how you feel.

Beethoven
If you cup your hands and hit them around someones ears in a fight you can cause this. Its a really good way of disorientating someone.

It would be better to take the practicality of sight.
