Looks awesome, The vehicle physics just look a bit.. stiff.
I don't think I have been this excited for a new game in a long time. The facial animations are stellar.
Also the release date is November 19th, 2013.
So... anyone got functional time machine? I promise I won't screw the time-space up.
I was hoping it would have a better premise than revenge.
21st of November? Seems pretty close to the GTA V launch in September. Wonder what this will do for sales.
yessss
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe either PS4 or PC is the lead platform.
gameplay looks great but the presentation overall is so boring. it has no character. [editline]29th April 2013[/editline]
21st of November? Eh the main character's gravel voice does put me off. Then again as a Chicagoan I love the graphics.
I was hoping it would have a better premise than revenge.
Dishonored's thing was revenge, fantastic game. And honestly, what else could the premise have been? If not revenge fueled by some tragic event that motivated the character, then what? He found the phone and he's fucking around? Just "decided" to become a vigilante? Ex-Cop who's trying to change the "system"? Even in the last case there, some event has to happen to make him want to do that, something has to motivate the character. A loved one being killed by something or someone related to this network is the most surefire way to do it.
I thought when looking at the title they were going to use a chemical bros song.
Look at that Jet on the top left at the very end, looks good

A loved one being killed by something or someone related to this network is the most surefire way to do it.
Dead wife is the go-to easy option that's been done to death tho, from Adam Jensen to Kratos and beyond. Overexposure greatly lessens the dramatic and emotional momentum of narrative devices, sometimes even to the point of becoming cliché and dragging you out of the experience with a thought of "oh, right, this again". I'd rather have your ex-cop that's fed up with sinners running purgatory and starts operating outside the corrupted system, which of course sharpens his conflict with his superiors. Finally one day it spirals out of control and here we are. You can both see his noble intentions and those of the people wanting to arrest him as a threat to the public. If it's emotional drama you're looking for, you could always pick the token old friend inside the force that becomes something of a nemesis because he wants to arrest Pierce to stop him from himself, to prevent him from unknowingly becoming who he hates. There, everyone has a good reason to hunt each other and they're neither completely right or wrong for sticking to their beliefs behind their actions. It's not difficult to write up these (and better) grey-and-gray scenarios if your writer just stops being lazy for a second. There have been hints at a more substantial backstory, something about him actually monitoring his own family in paranoia (and according to this trailer it was justified). I hope there's something interesting to be found there rather than just a plot excuse to get over with.
They could have just gone with making him a straight-up chaos loving anarchist. revenge because of a loved ones death isn't exactly a new or interesting idea.
Still has to have a motivation for becoming chaos loving anarchist. Though open world doesn't really work with any motivation because under player's control character will inevitably turn into batshit insane murderous stuntman on 'roids.
Music reminded me of Hotline Miami a little
yessss
I am now quite impatient for November to come.
