School project - Mediebyrået
A trailer that had to be 1:30 long. Chose to do a TV series trailer, but we ended up recording too much movie like material and filmed too little actual content and too much introduction content making the end being dragged out.

Did the editing over two school days, the two last school days before the deadline that is (made it english for you guys here at home, plus some fine tweakings here and there). We did the filming the week before the deadline, we filmed for two days.
It came out a lot better than expected, I though it would end up being complete and utter shit. So I'm happy with the result, but CC highly welcome.
It's a parody on dramatic reality shows on TV, like The Deadliest Catch.
Fully made in Premiere Pro CS4.
The main issue I've got with it is the text, the animation and font combo is pretty squick and a great effect could've been made with a simplistic, understated font and vibrant colour contrast (one thing in the text that you did do well)
Also could've tried colour grading it towards blue for a more shocky cold look
The 4:3/16:9 problem could be down to working in 1.3/(any other) aspect ratio pixels (as in for TV broadcast) and then trying to output it without adjusting for square pixels
The ambient at the start also sounded quite echoey/hollow, EQ'ing it to push the mids could fix it (not sure though, sound isn't my strong point right now)

Can't really do much text animation with Premiere even if I do want to, as I agree. Haven't learned After Effects by myself and the school ain't going to teach us. We also got a very limited variety of fonts at school, but I think I would have landed on that one anyways becuase it fits IMO.
Mmyeah, I probably could have made the temperature a bit colder instead of just grey and dark, I was going to fiddle with the colours but couldn't seem to find the correct effect for the job, all the adjustments fixed onthe shades, midtones and highlights instead of just the colours.
Yeah, put it on square pixels this time, youtube doesn't seem to like aspect ratios outside it.

I think that's what they intended to do when mixing the song, it's a soundtrack song, and a classical piece of music at that which usually tends to have the charm in just that, making it sound live played in a hall.
Thanks for the feedback :)
The font is horrid. And I'd recommend AfterFX for short videos like that one.

And whilst I know it's just the plain Chiller font, do you guys really despise it that much? I can't really think of many other kinds of fonts that fits. Broken down fonts wouldn't fit. Just plain thick bold fonts wouldn't fit, needs to be some sort of horror font if you ask me.
Already explained why it ain't made in After Effects.
Even a plain arial type font would have been sufficed better, perhaps with some grunge alpha channel.
Chiller is as bad as using Comic Sans or Papyrus and thinking it looks professional.
The video itself is pretty funny but using a font like that gives a very unprofessional look to it.

Arial would look like shit, it doesn't fit the mood at all. Maybe with a grunge alpha channel, but I've never heard of that before and as I said we don't learn how to use After Effects at all. We're supposed to think through our choice of things and chosing a simple clean font without any serifs would clearly be a bad choice for a dramatic trailer.
But I'll take the tip to my heart.
And you couldn't google a horror font? Maybe go on Dafont.com? You're always criticising people, surely you can use a better font.
I did like it though, besides that issue.

We can't install new fonts on our school computer, surely I could find a new one here at home, but I don't feel like redoing that again in this particular case.
And as I said I would take the tip, from both, at heart. But I'm also stating the fact that I do kind of like the font, but I'm not saying that what they are saying is wrong and I'll never do it, I'm taking it into consideration for next time.
