"The immediate cause of the closing was a deposit run that began and continued after the public release of a June 26 letter to the OTS and the FDIC from Senator Charles Schumer of New York."
This event, coupled with the Lehman Brothers collapse in September, marked the beginning of the current economic meltdown and provided the ammunition for massive government intervention in the private market.

because private companies like AIG, GM, and etc isn't responsible for this.

The private sector doesn't have the same potential resources it had in WW2. The whole gas being at peak production thing may damper that flawless plan in various ways.

We've been in debt pretty much since the start. So saying "bush got us into debt" is false. However His presidency didn't help anything either.
