Video came out for this WIP game today, looks phenomenal, not too thrilled about the monster however, seems a little uninspired.

Very nice looking, I'll have to keep an eye on this.
This looks like it's on the Fox Engine like PT was, but how?

Think it's on Unreal 4.
It looks good but it isn't PT good. Oh well, the subject matter is interesting enough.

Definitely looks like U4 shaders.

I don't think anything will top P.T, it was the first horror game of it's kind. In the sense that you're literally dropped in an environment with no clues, no guidance, objective or anything. The shrouded mystery of it's launch and how there were literally no videos/advertising of the game beforehand made it so much better.
Well if PT isnt happening this might do the trick. They've really nailed London housing too, looked just like my old place, complete with dead body and everything.
The whispery voices felt really out of place considering the monster is apparently a twitchy lady.
Shouldn't have revealed so much.
i'm loving the aesthetic of this, the setting is really nice
that monster though, seemed really generic
about 90% of it looks stunning - the realisation that you can't see out of the windows but can be seen through from the outside because of the light in the house is particularly fantastic. but then it starts to look kinda "meh" as soon as the ~horror~ stuff starts up. all the tension went straight out the window in that first bit with the oh-so-spooky-but-not-really-at-all "i can see you!" stuff.
also the voiceover is kinda pointless too - he's talkative as hell about needing aspirin and stuff but then is completely silent when the spooky stuff starts happening. i get that they needed a way to indicate the objectives to the player without plastering text across the screen, but if they're not going to be consistent then what's the point
but i mean, it looks pretty as hell
In order to do that without spoiling any of the story we decided to separate it from the actual game, so while this is real gameplay it's not what you'll see in the full version of the game.

I wouldn't really pay too much attention to stuff outside the visuals and game play mechanics, even the audio sound like a place holder.

Agreed. They need to remove the voice overs and the "I can see you" part. I don't know if there's a game play reason for needing the aspirin, but if it's simply used as a trigger to progress, they should seriously rework that.

not to come off as "but its an alpha!!!", it *is* still alpha, so maybe thatll all get fixed. i sure hope so, cause this looks like it could be pretty great. especially if it comes out for pc (because as far as i remember silent hills wasnt going to)

UE4 probably
Man those graphics are super nice.
I really dig stuff like that, where you could take a screenshot and tweak it a little bit, and it could fool anyone for a real picture. Much like the Fox engine in P.T
The atmosphere and sound was spot on too, could've skipped all that "I see you" stuff tho. I could see myself shitting my pants over this game, can't wait!

When I meant to "tweak it to look realistic", I meant something like this.

I feel like that monster design was just kinda off for some reason, like when something is on the rim of either being scary or being ridiculous and comedic. It was not subtle enough, it feels like the typical in-your-face horror which makes it cheesy.
Good monster design is partially what makes games like Amnesia and Silent Hill work, heck even Dead Space does it good enough to work atleast.
This is on Unreal Engine 4.
No ones going to match the combined minds of Kojima/Del Toro but they're welcome to try.
I don't even want to watch this, because I know I'll shit myself. PT made me paranoid for like a week
Kojima retweeted it, let the ruse cruise part 2 electric boogaloo begin again.

Halfway through I realized that they could've Gone Home'd me and had no spooky monster at all and let the environment alone scare me. You play PT and a hyper-realistic flat at night is all you need to shit yourself in pre-fear.

wonder if Konami will try to step in :v:

How could they?

I fucking thought Gone home was a horror game for the first 30 minutes.

The article he linked to starts with "forget Konami", shaming your employer could lead to some sort of trouble.
As generic as that Monster seemed, it did make me jump a bit at the end.

yeah but would you really be that surprised if they tried to send a cease and desist.
I liked it until the scares happened. Also yeah they need to drop the voiced protagonist real bad.
I actually really liked the scares, the last one not as much as the first. The first one was just silent and very much spooky, I liked that.
