why do people keep comparing these [I]completely different games[/I]
both of these games were fun. Fucking bought both of them because Its not like the world gives you a choice one or the other? Maybe a mother tells her 12 year old son he can only get one of the two. Grow the fuck up you stupid ass kids. It's like taking Halo vs Tony Hawk Underground. Does it matter? It's all based on opinion? You can't judge whether or not a game is better than another just by video. You have to play it. It's mostly in the gameplay. fuck the graphics. Cause people are dumb. Haven't played MW3 for any longer than 5 mins, but its pretty fun multiplayer too. Dosnt seem to be to many kiddies on PC.. but i dont know. BF3 all the way!

How is it at all different? They're first person shooters... you run around killing things with guns. It's like saying you can't compare cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese because they're different colors. They're still fucking cheese.

I personally liked the MW3 campaign over BF3's.
Battlefield has always had excellent multiplayer, with meh singleplayer, and vice versa for Call of duty.
I wish people would spend more time playing the games, rather than spending their time bitching about it on forums and youtube.

While I'll admit that there are some very ostensible differences between the two, I wouldn't go so far as to say that they're [I]"completely different games."[/I]
In Battlefield, your team's success is still mostly dependent upon how much more twitch reflex they have than the opposing team's, not unlike CoD. Despite the larger maps and the inclusion of vehicles, this paradigm still remains the same because special assets and vehicles rarely, if ever, possess inherent weaknesses that would give the player reason to pass them up and instead go on foot.
A lot of people also seem to claim that Battlefield requires strategy. It does not. If you actually take the time to converse with the rest of your team in an attempt to coordinate any sort of maneuver (lol), you'll risk being distracted and overrun because the maps are so small.
Perhaps this would be the wake up call for Activision to do something about renewing their series.

BF and MW are very similar (Theme), the gameplay size-wise though is very different, same with feature wise.
So comparing comparing BF3 with MW3 to comparing Halo with THU is pretty stupid. Halo and Thu are TRULY different games. MW3 and BF3 are both FPS modern war games with the same theme, team based mainly, and the only thing I really see that's genuinely notably different is map size, vehicles, etc.
Maybe if you compared TF2 with BF3 or Skyrim with MW3, you could say the comparison is dumb, but that's not the case at all.

I don't understand you people. You can compare the graphics between Skyrim and BF3. You can take Skyrim and MW3 and say which singleplayer you liked more. Hell, you can take League of Legends and Left4Dead and say which multiplayer gives you more fun. How is it so hard to comprehend? Does it say which game is better? Better at what exactly? The graphics can be objectively better or worse in comparison. But when talking about games it all comes down to fun. And fun is subjective. You can't say that this or that game gives more fun objectively. You can only say which one gives YOU more fun. Or you can make a poll and see how many people (out of those who voted) like this or that game. It's not going to say which one is better. Fuck, justin bieber would win with Chopin if you'd make a poll "which one is better in your opinion".

Unfortunately the gap is closing with DICE deciding to make half the maps small corridor shooter maps obviously to attract the CoD fanbase. I love BF but this current trend they seem to be going on has me worried.
BF3's campaign is too unforgiving for my taste. I haven't played any CoD since World at War, but I remember that I enjoyed the campaign a lot in both CoD4 and WaW.

I feel the same way about the games, mw3 had a pretty good campaign the bf3 was hard, to say the least. The multiplayer, well i like bf3 way better just because how the guns feel and how rewarding leveling up is, in mw3 even if i go 12-25 ive leveled my guns at least twice and unlocked some stupid emblem shit. I like the squad and the tactics in bf3, its awesome to have a squad with you, covering every side and you covering them. obviously the vehicles add to the game but mw3 does fine without them, but its fun knowing you can fly a helicopter and rain down on the people below. Although i agree with others that they're un comparable, there is no stopping it and no reason to get butt-hurt over it. I bought both knowing i would have a good time with both, not knowing which i would prefer( although i've owned and played every battlefield game). With that off my chest, im going to play Skyrim.

How dare people compare [I]different[/I] things. Let's just compare Battlefield 3 to itself.
Quite odd that first people hate IGN for being so biased for rating the CoD franchise high, now that they seem to be on BF3's side suddenly IGN's opinion is acceptable, although i gotta say those votes are probably from PC gamers.
Campaigns are equal IMO, both of them having amazing missions.
Multiplayer goes to MW3 for me, there's so many modes and the survival mode is amazing.
Graphics wise BF3 is probably better.
Overall I would go with MW3 just because there's a lot more layers of gameplay to it. I would like BF3 but I feel like all they did was copy-paste BC2 and give it some more CoD mechanics instead of doing their own thing like in BF2.
i couldnt care less about the campaign, its just a filler because some people dont like online gaming. im disappointed that MW3 outsold black-ops i dont even understand how that is possible and activision will keep shoving out the same shit till people finally wake up and stop paying for rehashed rubbish. and i bet their map pack will cost a bomb load again too and that will outsell the previous map packs.
I can't pick which game I like more. Battlefield 3 is an incredible modern combat FPS while I see CoD as more of an arcade shooter in the vein of Quake or Unreal. It's quicker to pick up and more consistently fun than Battlefield is, but lacks a certain depth. Battlefield 3 definitely looks better, but on the flip side I can play CoD on any computer and the console version of the game isn't neutered like BF3's console version. On a day where Battlelog worked 100% and the community was a little better I'd give the edge to Battlefield, but both those things just don't happen enough, so I prefer MW3 for now. I'll check back in with BF3 when B2K comes out.

They have entirely different game styles, their scope and depth are incredibly different.

If you're torn between which is better, just ignore it! Get both of them, you'll likely have fun with both, and either way, it doesn't matter which you like better.
