My hard copy of the Metroid Prime Trilogy is probably my prized possession. Christ I love Prime, and Federation Force never happened.
i've been playing through this game coincidentally
still one hell of a game, no first person shooter or adventure game matches its style and atmosphere
adored 1 and 2, never had the chance to play 3. tried countless times to emulate it but never found a way to get the controls working.
Considering how you can get 3 of these games for 20 bucks on the eshop (or just emulate it like the guy in the video said lol) I do not see a reason not to play these.
I would also say that the motion controls fit pretty nicely, you can shoot things very easily.
Still one of my favorite games of all time. Retro Studios absolutely nailed the execution on this game.
I loved these games, the first 2 were probably my favorite games ever to hit the GC. I still listen to bits of the soundtrack from time to time it was great then and it's still great now. If you haven't played Prime I HIGHLY recommend doing so.
I've been playing the first for the first time in years with the Trilogy. Left my wii at home though. Thankfully the newest versions of Dolphin are incredibly good. There's only a few minor hiccups with emulation I've found, stutter when loading certain sounds, a weird pixel group in the middle when upscaling. Might try that fork they mentioned.
Metroid Prime Trilogy is my favourite Nintendo title of all time and Metroid Prime is one of those watershed FPS games that hasn't been matched yet. Retro really knocked it out of the park with that game. I'm hoping for a Switch remaster of the whole series.
And would love a sequel or some kind of successor.

I love Next Level Games. Luigi's Mansion 2 and Punch-Out!! Wii are excelent; NLG has some amazing animators who know how to really bring characters alive.
Unfortunately, it seems neither they nor Nintendo seem to understand what made Prime great: it's a real Metroid series through and through, with a sense of isolation and atmosphere that is only enhanced by the first person view. They're Metroid games in the first place, not shooters.

I know that feeling. When mine came in I was super excited just to have it, let alone play it.
I've owned the Trilogy for a long time but never really got into it due to the motion controls, is there a way to bullshit M+KB or proper gamepad support for this game via Dolphin?
Retro Studios is my favorite dev studio, hands down.
It's great to see DF-Retro tackle this game, because to this day, I still think its looks hold up extremely well. Yeah, the textures may not be all that high res, but the general art style chosen for the game when coupled with its atmosphere just offers an experience that is hard to match.
I usually don't play favorites, but I would definitely say the first Metroid Prime is up there in terms of my favorite games of all time. It easily had the greatest impression on me at a younger age, and I still have very fond memories of playing it, probably some of my most vivid memories in gaming. It was the first game I played that made me want to become a game developer because of how I felt during and after playing it. I mean, I had dreams of becoming a game dev and working at Retro Studios (because I live in Texas...) when I was younger, and I've had ideas in my head for several years of making a Metroid Prime-esque game.
Either way, the work Retro and Nintendo did with Metroid Prime is nothing short of amazing, and I'm so happy that it was a part of my childhood.
