In case you don't know, Lou Reed and Metallica are soon to release an album called Lulu, which by indication of the first single, "The View", is destined to be a masterpiece and one of the defining and seminal albums of 21st century music. "The View" seems to be a perfect miracle of cooperation and talent; it is absolutely contemporary piece of music that will remain contemporary forever. The song is, as rhythm alone, more subtle than any music composed in my own century. It is pure music, it grips the heart with warmth and empathy. I'm sure that a lot of the misunderstanding about the lyrics in this song will be clarified on the rest of the album. The album has ten songs, and James sings: "These ten stories".* This will be a concept album. I absolutely love how this sounds. I bet it will be my favorite album this year. It's amazing avant, heavy, dark rock.
James is a table, your arguments are invalid.
The View really isn't as bad as everyone's saying
it brought me to tears
If you haven't told me I wouldn't have known Lou Reed worked on this. This just sounds like Metallica sounding silly as ever. Lou Reed is the coolest man in music, he's gotta put more cool into it!

I haven't liked Metallica's last couple albums, but this, this is very cool. now if only Lars would stop drumming because he isn't good at it anymore.

p sure the bad vocals were supposed to be ~intriguing~ and get attention and it works pretty well it doesn't really sound good but it's still more interesting to listen to that than to a completely predictable "musically correct" song
The View really isn't as bad as everyone's saying
one of the worst musical experiences I've had the misfortunes to encounter and I'm not even exaggerating
i feel for you
one of the worst musical experiences I've had the misfortunes to encounter and I'm not even exaggerating
Well you know what I'm going to buy Lulu and I'm going to really like it just to spite you so there
meanie
If the rest of the album doesn't contain Lou Reed droning on in a boring monotone voice, this could be quite awesome. Glad to hear a bit of Load/Reload stylings in there.
I love Lou Reed and I like a bit of Metallica which would make it logical for me to really like this. All I've gotta say is Metallica and Lou Reed make a good comedy group because this song is a fucking joke.
Metallica 1981- 1991 R.I.P
Metallica 1981- 1991 R.I.P
Oh gee, never heard THAT joke before
I think the riff is alright albeit repetitive. But the "vocals" are a joke and I'm pretty sure nobody involved with this song is actually a table.
Metallica 1981- 1991 R.I.P
Looks like we have a comedian in the room guys.
Looks like we have a comedian in the room guys.
Dough!
