It sucks especially as a person of Chinese descent in Europe, because so many people saw me as a Chinese tourist.
I know how you feel man people mistaken me as a mainland chinese all the time too (i guess it's because we speak chinese too i guess) as an asian i feel so embarrassed and sorry everytime when i see this kind of stuff happening

I know this might sound like silly, but I'm pretty sure there would be lesser chances if I was not of chinese descent

Don't judge people by their looks. As for when we will see an end to this... only when their economy goes down the toilet. Trying to improve their manners will not mean anything and is a waste of time. And, as mentioned in the video how China has "threatened to ban Chinese tourists with bad manners", that will probably not happen either because there are so many of them.
I work at the Stockholm central station and I can honestly say that most chinese tourists are like animals. During one shift I, alongside station security, had to step in because a group of 30+ began rushing towards the train the minute it arrived. Several of them were dangerously close to falling down between the station platform and the train. They're also easily distinguishable from afar whereas japanese and korean tourists are very quiet and overly polite the groups of chinese tourists is like a herd of chickens.
Can't wait for people to come in and start calling the posts in this thread racist, even though the issues with Chinese tourists is a widely known issue, even amongst Chinese government officials.
I remember I heard stories from my pals who work as airline attendants doing flights from China to Hawaii that the Chinese government gives their tourists instructions on how to behave in America.

I thought the Chinese people hate their own government? [editline]1st August 2016[/editline] Or are they just so stupid that they cannot even bother reading those things?
I didn't know Versailles staff could go on strike :D Seriously tho, I guess staff in Lafayette and other touristic places will have to suck it up because Chinese tourists are making most of their revenues.
I've always heard Australians were the worst tourists, for their habit of partying too hard
And I probably get shit for saying this, but its fucking good to be a white tourist. Of the so many caucasian tourists I've met, most of them get free offers, free foods, free rides (and without asking for them) though its more often in Asia (because everyone knows you're a tourist) whereas, as a asian tourist, you get scorned at because everyone thinks you're a chinese tourist. ( I mean there are chances of you getting to meet nice people and stuff but the chances are definitely less)
Now that the gateway between china and the world has been flung wide open
Was it not always like this? If so from what point?
Was it not always like this? If so from what point?
Since Deng Xiaoping made reforms to China
Since Deng Xiaoping made reforms to China
sounds like before I was born makes sense in my own perspective
The video itself talks about the government banning misbehaving tourists.
I've always heard Australians were the worst tourists, for their habit of partying too hard
For me it's the British easily. Chinese tourists are a nuisance, but they get taken aback when you yell and wag a finger at them. Brits have this disgusting sense of self-entitlement that makes them shout and start shit if you point out something they're doing.

We're so diverse no one really gives a fuck where you're from unless it's the middle east. Meanwhile I've heard tons of stories of white people being hounded in asian countries because people think they have money, and they are regularly ripped off because people don't know the price of stuff. Sounds like a specific caucasian to asian tourist phenomenon.
The video is really good, it actually explains the problem withut putting Chinese people in a really bad light. Chinese people aren't usually bad people, I've found they are often much nicer than western people. Sure, they aren't polite in the western sense, but actually being too polite in China is a sign of distance. I was stuck in the putong district of Shanghai for a week due to flgiht delays, it's a bit poorer than the city center, there was one restaurant that I really liked, I went in there and when they discovered I spoke Chinese they were really friendly and served me super fast. In fact the more times I went in the less polite they were, that's just how it is. In the end they were just like: Sit. What do you want? Ok. Here. Finished? It's this much. It's their way of showing their familiarity with you, in fact saying thanks to someone you know really well isn't always appropriate, it's better to give a gift or show your thanks through actions.
Like I was attacked by gypsies when I was in Paris. It's just how a lot of gypsies are. Specially the ones in France for some reason.

That was a very interesting video. It brings attention to the issue without demonizing anyone.
I've been starting to become more and more self aware of my spitting habit that I picked up from my parents. I would do it on an impulse but then feel bad about right after, its just that I can't feel comfortable without my throat or sinuses clear.

That's what happens when you take a country that's 90% farmers and shove it into the modern, industrialized age in less than one generation.
Paris Syndrome is real
Can't wait for people to come in and start calling the posts in this thread racist, even though the issues with Chinese tourists is a widely known issue, even amongst Chinese government officials.
Nope but I'm gonna call you out for not watching the fucking video. It's not a "wow chinese people suck" video.
The boom of Chinese tourism gives me mixed feelings I've always wanted to travel outside the U.S. and visit Spain and China's countryside. There's a time requirement for traveling, but ignoring that, the main issue is the insane expenses for plane tickets, tour guides, and hotel stays. I can't afford to do any of that if I want to graduate on time and minimize my already abysmal student debt. The best I can hope for is that my work has business in these areas. Two things are making more Chinese tour the world: the first is the One Child Policy. Without siblings, a lot of Chinese youth are spoiled by their successful parents. I see this time and time again with international Chinese students at my school; they have $3000 gaming rigs, get luxury goods mailed to them monthly by their loving parents, and have very nice cars for being a mere college student. The second part is the tech industry boom. A lot of electronic shit is made in China, and people are making fortunes that will last for generations off of it. I feel so frustrated. China is transforming the tourism and international housing market because they have fuckloads of cash and not enough ways to spend it back home. Mandarin is becoming on par with English as a necessary business language. In the small hope that I get to travel, I got myself a passport and they fucking misspelled my name. It cost me $140 and now I have to replace it. The world wonders why so few Americans travel, and the travel expenses coupled with a shit US economy make it very difficult. I'm jealous of China's success and wish the US could rival it.
