How do these people with no understanding of economics get into power.

Well Nick Clegg, seems like you need to up the deposit to scare those scary immigrants away.
Nick, when your advisers said "grow a backbone" they didn't intend for you to rip it out and beat yourself senseless with it, because the loss of your higher brain functions is the only motive I can see behind this.
It sounds like the sort of thing you'd say at a brainstorming meeting before having a little think and realising that it's a terrible idea.
I got an idea. All the immigrants get to live at Nick Clegg's house for free!

This doesn't affect them as they didn't come in 'officially', this is for those on short term or student visas who didn't leave when they were supposed to

We offered to build them a 'detention centre' in Calais but they started moaning about human rights
