• Good music player for Windows?

Ok, so I have most of my music in two formats, FLAC for my desktop, and MP3 for my various physical media players. I hate how songbird, winamp, etc all show both the MP3 and FLAC copies  I also dislike how Foobar2000 seems to not even have a playlist function like the others :11tea: What are my options here?
I've only ever used Windows Media Player and Winamp. v:v:v
Uh, foobar has playlists.
Foobar2000 does playlists just fine, in fact I think it does a very nice job of playlist organisation. Overall I think it is the best audio player out as well.
I like Songbird.
Why not just not add the Mp3 files to winamp v:v:v
Foobar does have a playlist function.
iTunes if you have an iPod. Windows media player if you haven't, WMP is not bad at all, it plays music doesn't it?
I just use iTunes, as I never listened to music on my PC, but I lost my iPod, so I use it now. Please, tell me everything that is wrong with it! :buddy:
I use Winamp or iTunes, so far they've been pretty good music players.

Screw Windows. All ya need's a walkman. For real though, Just use Itunes, Hipster
heh heh foobar master race that is both beautiful and useful and if you disagree you can go and wank over your flashy fucking itunes piece of unoptimized shit

No not your graphs and such, but the artist selection. Mine just keeps opening the folders deeper, and never shows anything in the playlist until I get to a music file.
facets google it
Foobar. Foobar. Foobar.
A billion little manually made tabs is not fine :\ Edit: nvm
So basically you want your audio player to read your mind and automatically make playlists for you?

That's what i do. [editline]21st March 2011[/editline] and just play them in winamp or something v:v:v
I just roll with VLC. Audio + Video + Scrobbling.
windows media player
Winamp or Foobar 2000. As for having both FLAC and regular files show up in your library, the only way to fix that is to have them in separate locations (for example use your generic windows Music folder for FLAC, and have your player read from that Music folder, and keep your MP3's in a separate folder somewhere in, say, your generic Documents folder called "iPod" or "MP3's" or something.). There is absolutely no other way, and nobody is going to go out of their way to make a media player that allows you to sort the listview by filetype. That would just be stupid. Like Songbird or get the add-on for Foobar or Winamp. Please, tell me everything that is wrong with it! :buddy:
It's a massive piece of shit? No seriously the EQ sucks, it's a MASSIVE pain in the ass to add directories (instead of individual folders), and the library file is my chief complaint. The library file concept isn't that bad if you only have a few hundred songs at most and can localize them all quite easily, because when the library file crashes/corrupts/SUDDENLY DISAPPEARS (and trust me, it will), you need to go back and re-add your library (which creates ANOTHER library file). This is an agonizing tragedy when you have over 14,500 songs to manage because - as previously stated - iTunes whines and fucking cries when you try to add a directory, and tries to make your life a living fucking hell. It does some neat things with its user interface I guess but for all its drawbacks I'd rather partake in a donkey show than use that piece of shit media player.
Ugh.. Just read my post with the FLAC tip and you're set.
Ugh.. Just read my post with the FLAC tip and you're set.
He's not whining about identifting them, he's whining about them both showing up in listview. Like if you just click shuffle on an artist, then there's doubles of every track because each version is a different filetype.

I personally like Songbird more than Foobar.
I found a feature in Foobar that let's me hide whatever extensions I want, it did what I wanted. [img_thumb]http://i55.tinypic.com/fvabkk.png[/img_thumb]
