Days Before He Was Fired, Comey Asked for Money for Russia Investigation
Days before he was fired, James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director, asked the Justice Department for a significant increase in money and personnel for the bureau’s investigation into Russia’s interference in the presidential election, according to three officials with knowledge of his request.
Mr. Comey asked for the resources during a meeting last week with Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general who wrote the Justice Department’s memo that was used to justify the firing of the F.B.I. director this week.
How much more incriminating can this administration be.

Not enough for anyone to actually do anything, I guess.
It's only a matter of time before he has Russia establish a military base in DC 'as a show of good faith'.
Holy shit that title.
It sounded like money as in "pay me and I'll turn a blind eye" but no it was more funding for resources into Russian investigation.

If it came to that, and let's hope it doesn't, I would be all for him, Pence, and Bannon all pulled out of their offices and locked in a military prison the moment word of that came out.
Things are happening right now, but evidence is like beads on a string. You get a little here, and a little there, and when you have enough, then you arrest the suspect, even though we already know they're as rotten as last month's fish.

Tell me again that this wasn't the Trump administration scrambling to cover their asses.
I am fully convinced that Trump, and several of his key advisers, are guilty of treason. They worked in direct cooperation with the Russian intelligence services, using Flynn as their point man, to undermine the US election through a campaign of theft, slander, and propaganda. Now, having stolen office by the skin of their teeth, this fascist regime is attempting to consolidate power and eliminate legal opposition.
If we keep going on our current course, I fear there will be violence in the streets of the United States.

And what makes you think the Senate would actually press charges or impeach?
Trump could massacre every man, woman, and child in Washington state, and they'd clap their hands and applaud him for decreasing the surplus population.

With a purely malevolent self-centered group holding the White House, I can't help but wonder if a violent revolution might be necessary.

Even his support base among his own party is being eroded, if you've been reading the news lately. Several representatives believe he's a loose cannon and too dangerous to retain in office. Not all the representatives agree with his policies, party politics or no party politics.
The minute damning proof of him being a treasonous piece of shit comes out, they'll drop him at once. And I don't think anybody who values their further political career would back a man accused of treason either.

I had to do a double take on it before I realized what it was trying to say, it's easily misunderstood.

I hope you're right. I sincerely hope you're right before Trump declares martial law.

I think we need to get that investigation Mitch McConnell is trying to block on the ground and running before we can do that...

I don't think martial law works like that.
Sarah Isgur Flores, the Justice Department spokeswoman, said “the idea that he asked for more funding” for the Russia investigation was “totally false.” She did not elaborate.
How likely is the next Trump appointee to successfully bury the investigation? It's starting to hit home just how dangerous the administration's efforts to make people stop listening to non-Republican news outlets are.

Folks, it's totally false, it's fake news, it's absolutely, let me tell you about how false it is folks, it is the falsest thing I've... you know, some things are false, but this is really false. So false. So false. It's all an absolute hoax. This is a disaster.

Yeah except Trump didn't collude with Russia, Obama's officials themselves have said it.
"President Obama's former director of national intelligence and his former acting CIA director have both said they have seen no evidence of collusion," the official said. "Clapper repeated his assertion today."

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said before a Senate Judiciary subcommittee that he was not aware of any evidence demonstrating collusion, but also said he had been unaware of an FBI investigation into the matter until FBI Director James Comey announced it to the public at a House hearing in March.
Clapper previously made a similar comment in an interview on NBC. Pressed by Sen. Lindsey Graham if that claim was still accurate, Clapper said, "It is."
He didn't say there was no evidence, he said that he wasn't aware of any evidence. He also wasn't even aware that there was an investigation until March lol
"What are your thoughts on the investigation into Trump's possible collusion with the Russian Government?"
"What investigation?"
"You heard it here first, folks! Proof that there is no collusion!"

Well now we know for sure there wasn't any evidence because if there was Comey woulda thrown Trump under the bus already.
Wasn't the left calling for his resignation about 6 months ago?

Resignation is quite a bit different from being fired, last I checked. Not even fired gracefully, he found out after he saw it on the TV while talking to some colleagues.

The investigation was only officially announced a month and a half ago, dude. For an investigation of this scope and severity, we are looking at a hell of a lot longer road than that. Meanwhile, the director of the FBI feels there is sufficient cause to not only carry on the investigation, but to request it be scaled up and receive greater funding and resources. Immediately after making that determination, the same administration that he is investigating unceremoniously fires him and publicly denounces him for something that, only months ago, they openly praised him for.
You seem to lack any real understanding of how our government actually operates.

The Clinton emails were being investigated all throughout 2016, it didn't happen in a fortnight.
The Russian scandal is snowballing, slowly but surely and Trump is helping it along.

The investigation isn't even concluded. Revealing what evidence they do or don't have now would be stupid. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if it was illegal considering they wouldn't be doing it in a courtroom.
Also, the left calling for his resignation 6 months ago is irrelevant because they were calling for his resignation under a different administration, and while they didn't know the investigation was ongoing. Nobody's saying Comey is a tragic hero struck down by the Trump administration. But they are saying that firing Comey in these circumstances is wildly shady. You don't fire a man on his wedding day, and you don't fire the FBI director while he's investigating you for colluding with a foreign government.
Why not use the actual title of the article?
"Days Before Firing, Comey Asked for More Resources for Russia Inquiry" is much more accurate.

quite literally the same meaning buddy
quite literally the same meaning buddy
One can be misconstrued, the other can't.
quite literally the same meaning buddy
Have you read the thread? I'm not the only one that misunderstood the title at first. Why not use a term that will be universally understood right away instead of something that could be misconstrued as "he was asking for a bribe"?
quite literally the same meaning buddy
The original title was different to the current title. I edited the thread about two hours ago because the first choice of title, which was something to the effect of: "The last thing Comey did before he was fired was ask for money" could be very easily misconstrued. The new title more accurately reflects the actual content
I'm fully convinced that some posters here would find any possible reason to justify if Russia established a military base(s) on our coasts with the reason of "armed" embassies or some bullshit.
For the side who laments and bitches like a special snowflake about "libcuck", they will readily be cucks themselves for a leader who barely fulfilled any policies and flip flops on issues more than a seasaw.

How is this even remotely relevant? Just comes across as deflection rather than actually addressing the situation.
How is this even remotely relevant? Just comes across as deflection rather than actually addressing the situation.
It's entirely a deflection and everyone knows it. It's on the same level of the batshit retarded logic of "Hey if you think it's racist, then YOU'RE RACIST"
