"Dream a little dream" My graphic design project for school.

Alright so I'm currently in Graphic Design II at my high school and I've been using Photoshop for about 2 months now. I'm still getting used to it and all the features. We recently had a project with the title "Dream a little dream" and it's about your dream of the future. This is what I came up with in about 3 class periods.
Just a reminder, I'm still very new with photoshop so don't critique my art so hard :(
Media tag for size

So what does FP think?
It's pretty good for a 2monther. :} Just a few minor changes.
You should've made the image vertical, rather than horizontal.
You could change the levels a little bit. Image->Adjustments->Levels
I think the guy in the spaceship could be about 1/2 his current size. It's too big in comparison to the city. Or perhaps make the city bigger.
Here's what it could look like, if you kept everything in a separate layer, and didn't have to use the smudge tool to move everything around and shit.

Wow I really love what you did there. You're right about everything i did except the clouds to stars going horizontal. I did take that in consideration but the way I thought of it was the stars being above the clouds was real and not dream like. But seeing what you have done with it, my view didnt really matter. it's still very surreal and dream like. I'm going to keep practicing with photoshop because it amazs me what you can do with it. Thanks for your constructive criticism and the fact that you took time in editing my art to show me an example.

Glad you appreciate it. I've been using photoshop for 4+ years now, and i've made plenty of shitty images. This is about my 6month-mark work right here, so evidently you learn even quicker than I do. :}
If you ever want to know a few tips or other related things, feel free to PM me. Of course, experimentation is always the best. :} (I still haven't used a couple of the tools to be honest..I should get to work on that..)
To be honest, the editing on both of them is sub par. It's more understandable for Heroic becuase his was based off yours, but still they are both bad. In his, the contrast has be bumped up and looks bad. In both, the blending is gross. The cuttout of the UFO is bad, the globe has blurred edges and the part below it is blured, and the detail of the images don't match up
Overall they don't produce a complementary or supplementary effect on each other.
And Heroic, if you've been using photoshop for 4 years, then why is your avatar an exposure raped image?

Of course the blending is gross. I'm not going to spend more than 10 minutes photoshopping someone else's school project for them. So I just cut out the images, rotated them, copied the stars around them and then blended them together. The same happened for the images in the clouds. Smudging is my 'quick tool'. The one I use when I just want something to get done, and only to show examples. If I really wanted it to look decent, I would've re-cut out the images, and photoshopped it like I would've. However, that would've taken about 45 minutes in total, and I didn't feel like doing that.
^Sorry, that turned out sort of long, and repetitive. I'm sort of a bad writer.

Because I thought it looked cool. I can do plenty of good looking stuff, and frequented the avatar request thread.
I love how pixel art looks, and thus created that image from scratch in MSPaint. :| Just because i've used something for a long period of time, doesn't mean that I can't backtrack in order to challenge myself more.
