The unsanctioned protest came hours after Alexei Navalny, the anti-corruption campaigner and chief foe of President Vladimir Putin, was found guilty of fraud and given a suspended sentence of 3 1/2 years. His brother was sent to prison. The convictions are widely seen as a political vendetta for Navalny’s role as a leading opposition figure.
Are these guys on bottom right standing on something or are they fucking gigantic?
Looks like they are probably standing on a cement planter.
Street protests now are mostly useless. People should have gotten their heads out their ass in between 90's-2000's when corruption was in its infancy, instead of falling for the lie that just because communism was demolished and state property privatised that communism-era ingrained corruption would dissapear.
i've been waiting for this day since Crimea occupation

Thousands sent to gulag for antigovernment shindig
but corruption during the 90s-2000s was at its prime, not its infancy.
Post-Soviet corruption was only beginning. The collapse of the USSR could have been a new start, but it's the same power hungry people doing the same shit that they have always done.
Corruption hasn't been in it's infancy ever, it's ingrained into our minds. That, and bureaucracy. Why bother waiting in endless lines? Why not just grease a couple of hands and be done with it? Besides, giving presents, for example, to your accountant for them not fucking up at their job is totally ok as long as it's not money. A choclolate, a liquor maybe. Some people don't stop there. Navalny is a really strange figure. Now that we're speaking about corruption, I have heard several times, mostly from state media, that he himself is corrupt. That he is an agent of "the West", sponsored personally by Obama to ruin Russia. State media. Was any proof of that found ever? I think it has already been talked about on FP during the whole "Putin castles" discussion, but I'm not sure.
I've seen more people in front of the messhall at my college, and the food wasn't even good.
I've seen more people in front of the messhall at my college, and the food wasn't even good.
I haven't seen your college on the news though.
I laughted my ass when i heard reports of this on radio then passed by on cab - few hundred grandmas having trouble standing on icy square/sidewalk/boulevard/whatever and everybody standing in line to take hot coffee. Laughable attempt and poorly executed, everything from timing, participants and place is soo childishly harmless. This photo is a great summary No, thank you, i'd rather have other generation fixing my country than you pals, k thx bye. Also, title is misleading, they were not even near red square, rather few streets away near entry to subway at Manesh. Also also. Wtf Navalny, you break rules of home arrest and expect a candy? Get a clue already, you are not qualified for anything more than your blog.

I'm not saying you're a mindless idiot following russian press, but please inform yourself on whats going on in your country.

Jesus, ya people sometimes ready to swallow whatever you wish to be a candy. Well sorry, protest is over, Navalny back at home and everything is quiet once again.
The only thing I learned about revolutions - they need to be nationwide. When everyone go to protest, without even a doubt that this will change something. When even police joins, because it's tired of what is happening. And this... I was there. Asked people what do they think. At least half of them don't even know who Navalny is, and why this is important. I don't know, should I laugh, or cry. This is not a revolution. This is not even a protest. Just a lot of people heard that something big will be, and came to watch. That's all.
Russian defending Russia, whats new?
Russian defending Russia, whats new?
How about "Guy from Moscow informing about Moscow stuff". I mean, i once threw red frisbee on red square at red dawn, i'm that rad, come at me comrad.
Are these guys on bottom right standing on something or are they fucking gigantic?
Putin has pissed off the fucking ice giants
How about "Guy from Moscow informing about Moscow stuff". I mean, i once threw red frisbee on red square at red dawn, i'm that rad, come at me comrad.
Wow, the most reliable source is you ? You're like RT except worse.
Wow, the most reliable source is you ? You're like RT except worse.
I remember that thread where there was a cloud fart making a bad smell in moscow and he went all out on defending that nothing was going on lmao
I remember that thread where there was a cloud fart making a bad smell in moscow and he went all out on defending that nothing was going on lmao
He sounds like a tityshka
. No, thank you, i'd rather have other generation fixing my country than you pals, k thx bye.
By fixing your country do you mean having countries put sanctions on it which are fucking the economy?
I remember that thread where there was a cloud fart making a bad smell in moscow and he went all out on defending that nothing was going on lmao
I his defense, it was only over certain parts of Moscow. Media just blew it over, and made it sound like the whole city was just one big fart, which of course never happened.
I his defense, it was only over certain parts of Moscow. Media just blew it over, and made it sound like the whole city was just one big fart, which of course never happened.
no it didn't, that thread was about a small cloud fart in a certain area making it smell bad for a while that later disappeared, it didn't stretch it in any form or way so yeah
Laughing at all the uninformed FPers not even near Russia bashing karimatrix's posts. In the end, he is more or less spot on, just putting up in a bad light. Cba to elaborate because on a phone, short story: this is zero impact event.
There was more police there than actual protesters, lmao
everything on russian news is just a reason to close roads and create traffic in moscow oh and putin moving down the street
There was more police there than actual protesters, lmao
They put police on high alert since the day before the sentence, so not surprising. And still after they moved it from January to yesterday. That pisses me off far more than anything else about it really. They know a lot of people will get pissed off. They know full well they're doing something wrong that people won't like, and they're doing it while openly preparing for this.
The police amount was crazy... I'd compare it with the amount of army in some European country.
