• Japanese Holograms

So I recently watched this show on History channel or Discovery that was about fireworks. Towards the end they had this bit on an actual hologram built in Japan. It was a laser, it would shoot up, then it would stop in midair and make a bright point. I have no idea how they could do this, it wasn't reflected off of water or anything and the only description they gave was something like "It's top secret technology and focuses lasers and shit." or something vague like that. So I'm asking the more scientifically gifted members of Facepunch to please tell how the hell this works?
If you're talking about this, it's water. If you're talking about this, it requires 360degree coverage with a heavy duty machine to operate functionally. Also, future right here folks.
I want one.
I want my 3d holographic porn.
Well, from what I can tell, it wasn't either of those. When they demonstrated it, it was in a completely open room, and I don't think it was a giant version of that second one because the walls were completely white, where I would imagine the second one would need some things on the inside. The best way I could describe it is it was exactly like the hologram in wiremod. You could see that it was one beam updating very quickly and it only had basic shapes down. Sorry I can't find a video, I can't even find the name of the show.
Making everything 3d is over complicating everything that was nice and simple. I am happy with a flat screen.
I want my 3d holographic porn.
hot.

It wasn't like CSI of something, it was a show on the Science channel or Discovery channel or something about fireworks
I want my 3d holographic porn.
I'm pretty sure someone has already homebrewed one of those collectible hologram cards to do that.
