...A customer survey [is] being sent to SimCity players and posted on Reddit... The survey lists several features, including a "classic mode" which allows you to, "In offline or online mode, play a single, fully functioning city using cheats and unlocks that allow you to create your perfect city." Basically, the SimCity that SimCity players would expect when buying SimCity to play SimCity. Fucking Liars They're also considering making an expansion pack that, among other things in it, gives us bigger city plots, but it'll most likely cost money. And terraforming tools.
Create larger city plots and more things to do and the game would be pretty damn solid.
Fucking Liars
They make it always online, people complain. They make it offline, people complain. Give them a break.
They make it always online, people complain. They make it offline, people complain. Give them a break.
I think we have the right to complain when they flat out told us that making it offline was not possible.
They make it always online, people complain. They make it offline, people complain. Give them a break.
It's a bit different to the stereotypical 'we have this opinion... now we have changed our opinion to what you were asking for - why are you angry?' situation that people often find themselves in; they directly lied and said that it was impossible. People are going to be hugely grateful that the change is happening, but it still highlights the Simcity team's massive dickheadedness, and they deserve to be criticised for that lie.
They make it always online, people complain. They make it offline, people complain. Give them a break.
I think that has less to do with the fact that they are just considering it, and more with the fact that they are considering doing what they claimed was impossible.
This is the same thing as the Xbox One, how the fuck does anyone know that there might have been a team working overtime to fix it.
significant engineering is required
Holy cow, how technology has evolved! Imagine that; just months ago, it was completely impossible for Sim City to run offline, and now, science has changed that! One can only wonder what comes next...
This is the same thing as the Xbox One, how the fuck does anyone know that there might have been a team working overtime to fix it.
Because it was possible going back to even the beta to play without an internet connection. At release people could disconnect their internet after being allowed to play and play without issue if they just editted out the stupid thing that automatically checked and kicked people for not having internet.
Perhaps we'll develop that fabled piece of technology that is a good Sim City game!
That's impossible and you know it. There's a hard limit in this universe on the size of a SimCity city and the pathfinding of commuters always taking the shortest route, no matter traffic. It quite simply can't happen.
Did they ever actually say it was impossible? I thought they were just saying it would be difficult.
Just play Simcity 4 and enjoy the quality mods produced for it over its 10 year existence so far.
Did they ever actually say it was impossible? I thought they were just saying it would be difficult.
It was basically "home PC's cannot withstand our excellent simulation, thus you must accept our servers graciously and with open arms."
They make it always online, people complain. They make it offline, people complain. Give them a break.
We got told it was impossible. Then, We got told it would ruin the whole system they setup. Then, We got told it was their entire vision to be always on. Then, We got told people actually liked the always online system. Then, We are getting told they are considering what we wanted since like January.
I wouldn't even bother to pirate it anymore.
Just how corporate can you get EA Fucking lying through their teeth, and then justify the lies with offering the very thing they LIED ABOUT
Back petling like always.
why do i get the feeling they'll just borrow the crack that came out this week
Wait a crack came for sim city?!
It will turn out retarded like "oh the online offline was reffering to single/multiplayer support for the classic mode" later: " we gave the people what they wanted a classic mode we are a great company"
I wouldn't even bother to pirate it anymore.
Are you implying you did? :v:
I wouldn't even bother to pirate it anymore.
It's a shame it was hamstrung by so many problems because it's actually a rather fun (if not fully faithful) city building/management game. the always-offline stuff should have been reversed ASAP after release.
Just play Simcity 4 and enjoy the quality mods produced for it over its 10 year existence so far.
You've found mods that work? I must suck at SC mods then. I got like 10 once and only 1 worked :v:
You've found mods that work? I must suck at SC mods then. I got like 10 once and only 1 worked :v:
the best mod is NAM
They make it always online, people complain. They make it offline, people complain. Give them a break.
No. Why give a company that's for two years in a row been the worst company in the US (sure, a token, tongue-in-cheek award), and who keep lying to consumers. So much denial around offline modes, then suddenly they come up with the great idea of it suddenly being possible.
They want to make it offline now, when everyone has forgotten the game and entirely moved on to greener pastures. Too little too late.
