As its popularity grows, there are hopes that one day the sport will be recognised by the Olympics. The hybrid sport came to the UK in 2008. It was first dreamt up by the French cartoonist Enki Bilal, and the first world championship was fought in Amsterdam in 2003.
Pretty interesting idea
I dont think this is new news dude better change your post .. before something bad happens
He could easily change it to make it news, eg. Chessboxing World Championships today.
I dont think this is new news dude better change your post .. before something bad happens
Well it was just reported on by the BBC news a couple of hours ago as the link shows, it's a new sport as far as i know. I just thought it was interesting.
It sounds like a fun idea but too gimmicky for me. The transition between the two sports isnt seamless enough for me. How about: you get to hit the enemy each time you beat one of his figures. 1 hit for a pawn, 2 for a horse and etc :v:
I thought the fact that it may become a new Olympic sport would have made it news, i've never heard of it being played in the UK before either, News to me.
Dumb sport.
Some Swedes might remember this, which I instantly thought about:

Pleaaase. Nowhere at all does it state that it may become an Olympic sport, and what it does say isn't news either because EVERY FUCKING SPORT EVER HOPES TO ONE DAY BECOME AN OLYMPIC SPORT.

I'm sorry that I made your day much more of a challenge and hope that one day every sport stops trying to reach Olympic level for you as it must be so hard to hear all the time.
Playing strip-poker while racing on motorcycles.
EVE Online developers CCP did this for the EVE fanfest last year.
