the weird internet obsession with this kid is unnerving and also very creepy
I really would rather not listen to some guy read his emails, I could do without the mental headfuckery. I don't wanna get inside the mind of a lunatic.
Rodgers was a diaper of a human being
I don't mind studying the minds of disturbed people but I think these are the exact types of videos that Youtube should be taking down if anything. These emails were never intended to be public and broadcasting them to as many people as possible is a huge invasion of privacy. It's really fucked up that Mumkey doesn't see a problem with what he's doing and thinks he can wave off any responsibility because he wasn't the one that obtained these emails.

Exactly, I doubt he even gives a shit about the shooter and trying to understand him. He just wants them sweet youtube views. Just the way the whole thing is presented with spooky evil music and the editing just screams it.
I remember there was a website of his fathers photography someone found a while ago, one of the albums had a bunch of kid and baby pics of elliot and it was titled "Why Elliot?"
pretty sad

At the very least it shows he has no respect for Elliot's family. If these emails belonged to a regular person Mumkey would be getting crucified for leaking them to the public. But because they belong to the family of a murderer it's suddenly okay. These are the kinds of videos that make it hard for other content creators to turn youtube into a real career.
Mumkey's obsession with Elliot is legendary.
His anime review about him is pretty amazing. And I would argue he does discuss this matter in a respectful way.

I don't have an answer, but I do have questions:
1. Should we be respectful of the dead's privacy, even when they went and took other people's lives?
2. What are the damages? (possibly causing extra emotional pain for Elliot's family?)
3. Is there any potential for learning or good from these e-mails that outweigh the damages?
I'm legitimately asking that and I'm going to have to think about it.
I don't even get mumkeys obsession with Elliot, it's really odd and he's been at it for years.
Does he have a crush on him or something? What's he trying to prove with this.
Stuff like this shouldn't be posted. People like Elliot Rodgers' and the absolute madness that came out of his mouth doesn't deserve to see the light of day.
They deserve to be buried and forgotten, same as I feel all news shouldn't showcase the footage or faces of murders as if they're going "WHOA THIS GUY SURE IS CRAZY HUH? LET'S SHOW YOU 30 MINUTES MORE OF THIS MARTYR!" - Just report it and move on, these firebrand nutters do not deserve recognition for the atrocities they've committed.

I thought the idea was fair, like if you go through his digital life you'll get a lot more words from his mouth personally rather than the perception of him we got after his death, but thats not really what mumkey's doing here.
Also he paints a really nice picture of how he perceives his audience...
I bet would be killer are discouraged seeing how they amount to nothing but a pathetic joke to the internet. Also, you get a pretty good idea of how Elliot developed the way he did, the combination of his genetics and environment.

Those are all fair questions that are worth discussing but they don't really pertain to what I find abhorrent about what Mumkey was doing. Imagine someone hacked into your private email or whatever chat client you use most often and started leaking your conversations with other people on a youtube channel with thousands of subscribers. That's exactly what Mumkey is doing. The only difference is that the conversations he's leaking were between a murderer and his parents. Even if Elliot's rights to privacy no longer matter because he's dead, the rights of his parents don't get revoked because of his death or the actions he took prior to his death.
To answer your questions -
1. Yes. We must respect the rights of every person even if they break the law. If you want to make the argument that a person's rights cease to exist when they die, you can try. But as I said above, revoking a deceased person's rights doesn't revoke the rights of the other people involved in his conversations.
2. Emotional damage is impossible to measure and irrelevant. The damage done is to everyone's right to privacy. If Mumkey can upload one person's private conversations onto youtube, there's nothing preventing him from uploading YOUR private conversations onto youtube.
3. There is absolutely potential for learning and good from these emails. But I think we would both probably agree that unless Mumkey's parents broke the law themselves, they should retain their right to privacy, and whatever benefits we could get from violating that right are irrelevant.
At first I thought mumkey's obsession with Elliot was just ironic and a way to be edgy, just like how he often mentions suicide and praises nazis.
But after the 10th video, you start asking yourself. Really.
And then, his avatar sometimes holds a body pillow with Elliot on it.
Someone should show him this :

his whole family seems like money grubbing pieces of shit. you don't need a car in isla vista, everyone bikes/longboards everywhere. he could have lived without the insurance

Refusing to understand why these sorts of crimes happen is a sure fire way to guarantee more of them, in my opinion. Should we glorify murderers or turn them into blameless victims of society? Definitely not, but to outright dismiss their motivations and humiliate them (like youtuber MisterMetokour did in his video about Randy Stair) is to cultivate more hatred and ignorance.
Elliot Rodger's case warrants a deeper sociological study than any traditional media has bothered to give it. The feelings he had of depression and insecurity resonate with a LOT of young people. So much, in fact, that I believe it's fair to say that the current political climate is partly influenced by them.
This is why I think Mumkey's videos on Rodger are important. Understanding his mind, environment and the circumstances that led him to kill is essential to help those going through similar things.

Why in the world are they doing/promoting this?

Ignoring the discussion above on whether or not it's ethical to release these emails in the first place these emails didn't really tell us anything we didn't already know. The manifesto seem to be a good enough recap of his Morocco trip.

Impossible. The problem must be them
[QUOTE=PelPix123;52631168]something that kind of astounds me is how weird people on "incel" boards continue to say it's "all about looks, girls only care about looks, and that has to be it because our personalities are perfect" even after elliot rodger, a physically handsome man with an incel's personality, was still completely unliked.

self-identified incels are amongst the worst people alive

It's also really fucked up that they try to keep each other down. I've seen some posts from incel on other subreddits and when one of them was talking about actually connecting with a girl, all the comments were filled with hate against him and telling him to fuck off.
You'd think they'd be positive when one of them finally gets to the "goal" so to speak, but they just want to keep each other down. As someone pointed out though, at least that guy is probably healthy enough to realize that place is a shit hole and live a normal life without all that negativity.
mumkey what are you doing
I thought this was a joke
mumkey no stop please
I cant blame him. There is aomething weirdly interesting about serial killers and their psyches and rationalizations. I for one find these videos are really interesting.
Nice guy rage
